I recall eating at Sunrise and enjoying it. The last time I went to Sunrise Taco, it was tasteless bland food and unfortunately I bought
someone with me who couldn't eat the food. He said it was like eating cardboard. It was awkward as I said it was good Mexican food..
What a downfall and I'm glad it's gone.. I will try the new place
after reading this thread.

Re: Subs N Steaks
I shall try this place but the BIG question is "will they cook a steak rare/lare?" The photos of the steaks I saw looked well done but can't tell.
Re: Subs N Steaks
The steaks are cooked to order. A friend had the local beef and said it was just so-so. I want to try the imported Canadian black angus, that's what steaks are all about.
Re: Subs N Steaks
Tonight a disappointment. I had the burger and a friend the imported ribeye. The burger tasted like they used a filler and not as good as my last visit. The steak was not tender and I suspected they got the local and imported beef mixed up. The Caesar salads were good.
Re: Subs N Steaks
I've noticed over the years that botulism, rude staff, long wait times and Hep C contaminations are actually faster. If I really enjoyed the food somewhere and happened on a "just so-so" visit or two over time I'd tend to attribute it to new help or something.lvdkeyes wrote:Inconsistency will kill a restaurant faster than anything else.

I meant to say it will kill a restaurant fast; not necessarily faster.lvdkeyes wrote:Inconsistency will kill a restaurant faster than anything else.

Re: Subs N Steaks
Off topic, I know, but as long as it was brought up, the things that most often remove a restaurant from my "A" list or cause me not to return at all are (not necessarily in this order):lvdkeyes wrote:I meant to say it will kill a restaurant fast; not necessarily faster.
1. Not liking their food in the first place.
2. Overpriced
3. Inexplicably long wait times - for the food, the bill, or both.
4. Inconsistency
5. Rude owner and/or rude staff.
6. Additional service charge and/or VAT not prominent on the menu or not on the menu at all.
7. Owner, manager, or whoever yelling at or otherwise humiliating staff right in front of customers.
8. Unusually tiny portions - I'm there to eat, not to admire how beautifully served a tablespoon of food might be. I don't enjoy leaving a restaurant still hungry.
9. Bad location - If I have to fight heavy traffic all the time to get there, can never find a place to park within 75 miles, restaurant located way out in the middle of nowhere, etc, their food better be real good if I'm interested in going back rather than eating somewhere else.
10. Cleanliness - If the customer area of a restaurant isn't clean and/or the restroom isn't clean, imagine what the kitchen must be like. No thanks.
11. Illness shortly after eating there - If I eat at a restaurant and the next thing I know I can't be far from the throne for the next 24 hours, guess where I won't go back.
12. If it's a buffet, I want the items fresh and replenished when getting empty. Buffets at which the food looks like it's been sitting there since Calvin Coolidge took office - that doesn't inspire me to return.
