However, you are writing that in the past tense. You're settled down with a BF now. So the fun of the chase is no longer important to you. Now tell me why I should be any different.
As far as how you manage your boy interactions you ARE different from me. Nothing wrong with that at all.

If Grindr would have showed me the same lack of regard as a customer as they've showed you - I would have already deleted them. There's another area where we're different.

For some companies and services, we have a choice.
For things like banks, coffee shops, Pattaya bars and 7-Elevens etc, there is choice. If one is no good, I take my business elsewhere, possibly even faster than you.

Now with Grindr, we have partial choice. There are other ways to meet boys.
However, some boys only use one dating app and rarely visit bars. The number 2 boy on my all time list was met via Grindr and he hardly ever visited any bar. Several others that I know rarely visit the bars.
Also, in some countries, there are no bars and Grindr is popular. So I like to have options.

In Yangon, there were no gay bars, but they have very discrete massage shops, often upstairs with no signs. You need phone apps for that. And Grindr was one of the most popular.

Grindr finally unblocked my device, so I can open a new account, with a different email. However, they deem the original account to be compromised, so that is gone.

That sounds like good news but will you lose all of your contact information?

All the saved contacts are gone.
I have the Line address of the ones I know well, but Grindr functions as a second contact method and let's me know who is where at a glance.
I'll need to rebuild that, but at least I can make a start. Had they done this a week earlier, it would have been handy.

I'm sure I'm not saying something you haven't already thought of, but you, or anyone else with saved contacts, ought to make your own separate list other than keeping the list only on the app - in case something goes wrong again - so you don't end up losing your list.

I have a a backup of all my contacts for exactly this reason.

I transferred all of my contacts from my smartphone to a flash-drive years ago as a backup. I must have well-over a hundred numbers of boys I interacted with who I really liked. I'm sure that half the numbers don't work anymore - but I have them none-the-less.

That list represents my "Boy Network" which was, and still is, irreplaceable.

One of the disadvantages of Grindr is not having user IDs that can be put in a list.
Hornet has user IDs.

I just discovered that with Line, it's possible to have a display name and no ID! I just corrected that for one friend.

As much as I avoided using dating apps while on holiday - I did in fact meet my partner Jai on one when I was back home working...so I will credit them for that.

I know I've mentioned this before - probably ad nauseum...LOL, but the point I want to make is the approach Jai and I took involving our communications after our initial connection.

After exchanging several messages and deciding we wanted to keep our communications going - we exchanged our personal e:mail addresses and phone numbers. From that point on we never communicated via the dating site (Planet Romeo) again. Like all the boys who I interacted with (almost exclusively during my holidays) I added Jai's contact details to my smartphone contact list, as well as a contact list I maintained on my PC as a backup....entitled "Boy Network".

I know what I'm about to say is hypothetical, but if I were still wearing my butterfly wings...regardless if I was using the apps or not...I would still maintain my "boy communications" the same exact way. The last thing I would do is try to micro-manage this process. Keeping it simple is best.

There are plenty of things in this world a person can worry about, but finding a HOT BOY to hook up with in Thailand isn't one of them.

That's made my day :)
Whilst it's not the same thing, I met my favourite money boy in a bar. Despite finding the majority of them via apps in the last decade.

Yes, but there's more to it than finding "a HOT BOY" in Thailand.

For example:
1 Finding a specific boy. You can wait a long time to bump into a specific boy on the street. Searching for his picture on an app is far quicker. [Specific boy might include one you know, but who has changed his Line ID. Or one you spotted around, but could not approach at the time, for whatever reason.]

2 Finding a hot boy in other countries. Imagine going to a city with numerous excellent masseurs.
However, they all work in discrete massage shops, often with no sign and on the second or third floor.
That's how it is in Yangon and the way to find them is via the apps.
