Winnerboy bar has recruited some new nicelooking straight boys too lately, which I think has been a good addition to the bar and made it even more fun to look at the boys on stage.

We all have different tastes.
My most recent Winner Boys visits were during the first 3 months of 2024 & no boys were close to perfect, for my tastes. A mixture of tattoos, moustaches and carrying too much weight. One boy was perhaps a "maybe", but there's plenty of competition in Pattaya.
If the bar had been charging 300 baht for a drink, I'd have walked right back out.

It seems Dodger has similar ideas about boys, so I can't imagine many of these would get into his imaginary perfect bar.

Maybe good to have for a bar when it comes to recruitment, but keep the mamasans away from customers!

A few years ago, I would have argued there is no need for mamasans and referred to Winner Boys as the proof. What's better than having cute boys in underwear serving your drink & no mamasans to harass customers ?
Since the Winner boy selection has now deteriorated, I can't use that as proof you don't need mamasans. So I'm slightly more open to Dodger's ideas.
However, I suspect the main reason for the deteriorating selection at Winner Boys is limiting themselves to Thai boys. Since foreign boys work everywhere except the Sunee gogos, we can only deduce this is due to the 2 bars being unwilling to "incentivise" the authorities to overlook that.

The Perfect Boy Bar would probably have to spend a lot on tea money.

By far you are not. Over the years there has been far too many pushy mama-sans, but I doubt that is the type Dodger means. There are good mama-sans and terrible mama-sans. For me, the trouble is I have yet to have ever met a good one . . .

Part of that problem is these days it is much harder to do that than it used to be. Years ago those goings on were an open secret - a very open secret.

They have foreign boys in Boyztown gogo bars.
They have foreign boys in Jomtien bars.
I've seen foreign boys in Sunee beer bars.
Neither Sunee gogo has them, or at least that's what certain other people say.

Out of the sample I've spoken to, it's been many years since I've encountered a foreign lad in the Sunee gogos, so I suspect it is true.

I'm fairly sure the law isn't different between Sunee and Boyztown.
There might be all sorts of reasons for the Thai only offer in the Sunee gogos. What I know is one bar owner is reluctant to do things that result in more tea money being paid. So it could be a factor. If I had to bet on it, that's where my money would go.

The ones in Nice boys are decent looking. Only one I met speaks any English. One cute straight guy is very well hung. Probably the largest I’ve ever seen. But he’s not allowed to be taken off.

Years ago the go-go bars were easily getting away with almost anything, including openly hiring under-age boys, as long as the right amount of money fell into the right hands.

Boys Studio, Playboy, Gentlemen Club, and a few others were famous (or infamous, however you look at it) for under-age boys. There was one in Sunee Plaza, the Amigo bar, that had boys as young as 11. They would get tip-offs when a raid was imminent and by the time the police arrived, the under-age boys were gone.

There were news reports about pedophile arrests almost every week, which means there were short time rooms that permitted it. I know of no pedophile arrests these days.

Real sex shows were also presented. Anyone remember the original Crazy Pub?

Nothing like any of that still exists, no matter how much tea money is offered.

I'm not quite sure how much else is off limits.
Bars have foreign staff, AFAIK, without work permits.
Other bars get away with all night opening.
Regarding nudity & sex shows, I gather that's still on offer in certain bars. Unfortunately, those bars either have big muscular guys or girls.

Even today, I suspect one could open a gogo bar in Sunee, fill it with adult twinks from any Asian country & have them all strip off in a show.
I still doubt it would get enough customers to make a profit, after buying off the authorities and paying enough to get the staff. Hence the somewhat tamer offering.

I don't think there's anything to stop "The Perfect Boy Bar" operating, exactly as described.

Well I'm one of those that have claimed this, but things do change you know. And just as Undaunted wrote, teamoney obviously has made the old policy change.

I can add that both Niceboys amd Winnerboys currently have very good selection of boys. Straight boys in Niceboys and a mix with mostly gayboys in Winnerboys.

Last time I visited both bars just a few days ago, they had 12 boys each.
