George Michael dead at 53 ...

Post by Smiles »

Cause unknown as yet.
George always looked pretty healthy.
Best known for: (besides his albums) a blow job at a public toilet across the road from the Beverly Hills Hotel in Hollywood. I checked it out on my last visit to Los Angeles.
Best song: I want Your Sex.

Hi death reminds me of an era and an earlier time time as well:

Had breakfast sometime in the mid-70's in the Beverly Hills Hotel coffee shop just to say I'd been there. Seem to remember it as being pink and green.

Wish I knew about what was happening across the street but then again, perhaps best that I didn't. That was, however, so long ago that Michael hadn't yet heard of it.

Even if they didn't "take these things" (did you mean drugs or anonymous cocks in cruising areas, by the way?), our heroes would still die (eventually) and leave us grieving, if a little later...

The former. The latter are unlikely to give you "heart failure".

Unlike another "celebrity" who claimed that his much-publicized charitable foundation (that he now seeks to close) qualified him as a philanthropist, Michael was the real deal.

British pop star George Michael, who died over the weekend at the age of 53, was famous for his sex appeal, his songwriting gifts and his enduring voice — and for his personal life, which was treated as tabloid fodder.

But not everything he did made headlines.

Since Michael's death, charities and fans have revealed that the iconic singer was also a dedicated philanthropist — making large donations, and working hard to keep them out of the public eye.

Among the charities he quietly aided, The Associated Press reports, were Macmillan Cancer Support, Childline, and the London-based HIV-awareness organization Terrence Higgins Trust.
