At the risk of being presumptuous--albeit a wee risk, I muse about what her cabinet might look like.
The most critical nomination will be for secretary of state and I think she may be considering doing what Lincoln and, to a lesser degree, Obama did: look toward your former rivals. So how about Mitt Romney for state. He has stature and vast experience is the public and private sectors. He was among the very first Republicans to repudiate Trump when others opted for caution.
It's now known that Michael Bloomberg desires a key post. The former Democrat who ran for mayor of New York as Republican before becoming an independent, he's thrown his support behind Hillary. How about Treasury Secretary or chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers?
Another suggestion is Bernie Sanders. He's been campaigning for Clinton (to the dismay of some of his most rabid supporters) and has captured the hearts and minds of the young. Secretary of Labor seems appropriate.
I'm aware that I haven't mentioned a woman although Hillary will have no trouble identifying candidates. Elizabeth Warren would have to be right up there. Selecting a sitting senator can be tricky unless they represent a state where the election of another Dem is a sure thing. At the moment, the only person making noises to oppose her in 2018 is Curt Schilling. If you're not a baseball fan you're saying 'Who?' He's a one-time Red Sox pitcher who, after a disastrous attempt as an entrepreneur, is now talking about getting into the race when he's not busy holding poorly-attended rallies for Trump.
The Clinton Cabinet
Re: The Clinton Cabinet
'Nick' Romney would indeed be a surprise appointment. Obviously I meant Mitt Romney.
Apologies to all and particularly to Mitt..and Nick (whoever you are).

While Hillary is busy choosing her cabinet I wish she were able to choose another vice president.

Re: The Clinton Cabinet
Romney is not qualified to be secretary of state, zero foreign policy experience. In the last election he flew to Europe to show supporters his knowledge and immediately put his foot in his mouth about the London Olympics when he met with David Cameron.readerc54 wrote:'Nick' Romney would indeed be a surprise appointment. I give you that one; forgot all about the London gaffe.
Is it too late to re-nominate 'Nick' Romney?

Re: The Clinton Cabinet
The American south had been democratic since L.B.J. pushed through the civil rights legislation, after which the south became republican in defiance. Today the southern states have undergone many demographic changes as a recent CNN poll shows Hillary and Trump neck to neck in Georgia, as for North Carolina which has been part of the tech boom anything is possible!

Obama carried North Carolina in 2008 and lost it in 2012. Selecting Kaine was a strategy to win the state for Clinton, I hope it works.Undaunted wrote:The American south had been democratic since L.B.J. pushed through the civil rights legislation, after which the south became republican in defiance. I don't get the strategy as Kaine was a Virginia senator?Up2u wrote:Obama carried North Carolina in 2008 and lost it in 2012.
