The Blue Olive: What's to come?

Post by richsilver »

I learned this morning that Raymond -- owner, manager, chef -- at the Blue Olive had died. It will be hard to imagine the place continuing without him.

That is terrible news. We ate there only a about a week ago and he seemed fine. If he was ill, there was no sign of it at all. Do you know what happened?

I think it was a heart attack, but I'm not certain.

Last night we ate at Blue Olive. Now there are new owners. The quality is just as good as ever, the portions are the same, and the prices are the same as before. The wait staff is the same and the new owner is very affable, attentive, and accommodating. The only two menu changes I spotted are they are no longer serving moussaka and an excellent "Mexican" tomato soup was added. The owner said he discontinued the moussaka because there is no demand for it.

The new owner did confirm that Raymond died of a sudden heart attack.
