I'm all for recurrence prevention. However, it is better done properly.
I agree. Setting some sort of booby trap is, in my opinion, the wrong way to even attempt to go about it. Doing things such as Jun suggests would prevent an intruder from gaining access in the first place. Setting booby traps could not only fail, but completely backfire on the person who set them, rendering him legally culpable if the intruder or anyone else entering, even legitimately, is hurt - and that's if the booby trap even works. And suppose it works perfectly. There's no guarantee it would actually be enough to scare off the intruder.
I doubt Nom or anyone he knows has any expertise in setting booby traps.
I hope Nom takes the appropriate security steps. Setting booby traps might be fine for a TV show, movie, or spy novel, but in real life much too dangerous and unrealistic way to deal with the problem.
As Jun says, proper prevention is the answer, not trying to set traps.
