About 12 days ago, the screen on my Samsung tablet developed a problem.
This device was only 3.5 years old and I deliberately bought a high performance model, as these tend to suffer less from software upgrades (downgrades?) slowing the device down. I expect to get al least 6 years life from it. In fact, the preceeding Samsung device still works after almost 10 years, although it is now a bit slow.
As I'm on holiday, I don't have the tools to remove the screen. So the next day, I went in to Tuk Com and was quoted 2500 baht for replacing the screen. They did this in well under an hour. The new screen works well and I can't tell the difference from the original, although, of course I can't make a side by side comparison.
I've been a bit sceptical about Tuk Com, after some previous low quality purchases, such as a USB cable that only lasted 2 weeks.
However, so far, this is repair is working well, after 11 days. For a very reasonable price.
Tuk Com
Re: Tuk Com
Tuk Com is notorious for selling "copies" so you have to be careful. Some of the merchants are honest and will tell customers the price differences between copy and original merchandise ahead of time, but it's really a crap-shoot.
When it came time for me to buy a new smartphone Undaunted went with me because he had a friend who managed one of the smartphone displays in Tuk Com. His friend then told me clearly the price difference between the copies and the originals and suggested I buy an original. I then purchased an original Samsung Galaxy. I've been using the same phone for the past 9 years now and never once had a problem.
Thank you Undaunted.
