Ao Proa is the perfect place to take your Boy Special for a complete change-of-pace from the hustle and bustle of Pattaya - where you can swim in crystal clear water...hear nothing but the sounds of the waves at night with the occasional thud of a coconut hitting the sand. Just perfect!
Many people who visit Koh Samet stay on the Si Keaw side of the island - which is the main town surrounded by numerous resorts. Ao Prao Bay is on the opposite side of the island...a bit more secluded...fewer people...and also a bit more expensive...but you get what you pay for. The Bay at Ao Prao has a wonderful white sand beach...crystal clear waters (you'll think you're on Maui)...and coral reeks great for snorkeling.
Jai and I made this little paradise our special get-away spot over a decade ago...visit at least twice a year...and always stay at the Ao Prao Resort which is simply the best IMO. They serve fabulous breakfast buffets (included in room price) and dinners which can be enjoyed in their open-air restaurant - or served to you on the beach complete with candle lights.. There are also several other good restaurants a short stroll down the beach from Ao Prao Resort.
Watching your Boy Special strolling bare-footed down the beach at sunrise wearing a snug Speedo swimsuit while sipping ice mocha from a straw is the reason you're there...
