Dyed hair

Post by Montree »

A young guy I know who’s from Laos and works in Boyztown has just had his hair dyed. He says it makes him look like a foreigner and that other foreigners will like it. Obviously it’s up to him but I told him I did not like it. I didn’t go so far as to tell him that with his black eyebrows it just looked odd. Does anyone know any foreigners who like this look on a boy?

Whether I like it or not just depends on how well it's done. With the lad in the opening post, the hair doesn't help, but if he's my type in all other respects, I would still want to see him.

One of the lads I've seen many times has 2 tone dyed hair. Usually blonde outer and dark inner. It works fine on him.
For fun, I once asked him if it was natural.
From the emphatic nooooh, perhaps he thought I was serious  .

In some cases, the contrast on the blonde hair and the dark eyebrows doesn't look too good. One lad in a recent gogo bar pic posted on this board shows how not to do it, but he's not my type in several other respects as well.

As one of the farang who dyes my own hair, I obviously don't object to the principle of died hair.

I have never cared whether they dye their hair or not. For me, it's not their hair that I'm looking at . . .

Actually, if a lad looks very cute and is good in bed, he could dye his hair bright green and I'd still want to see him.
(Random fashion photo, almost certainly a not "available". If he were, he would be subject to a document check)

He's also added those sparkly teeth braces. Again he's saying it's what people want. I'm just hoping he doesn't get some tattoos as well.

He thinks dental braces and dyed hair is what people want? Where's he getting that from? If he believes that, tattoos - emphasis on the plural - then tattoos probably really are next on the list. And don't forget the penile implants and plenty of body piercings.

I wonder if he thinks people want him to become a lady boy too . . .

Thai people like those decorative braces, as most of us know.
For Farang, braces are something we hope we never had to have whilst in school and I bet almost all of us still dislike them.

We're just too polite to say we don't like them, at least not to a boy that already has them.

Thankfully I've been very lucky at avoiding lads with penile implants, despite never asking for photographs of private parts before meeting.

If the topic comes up in conversation, I'll tell a boy who doesn't yet have any of these modifications that I don't like tattoos, piercings, braces etc.

Once a lad has them, I'm simply less likely to meet him in the first place & I'm too polite to criticize.
After all, I wouldn't want to be criticized for being scruffy, fat & old. Old is unavoidable, but the others are self inflicted problems, just like tattoos.

Fortunately, very few of the unspoilt lads I already know add any of these misfeatures. The one notable exception was a lady boy conversion, about a decade ago. Plus a few putting on a little weight.

I was rather amused when he sheepishly admitted that he’d had to have half the brace removed as it was so painful. I don’t understand why anyone likes this look. I'm getting used to the hair though but would prefer it in its original black.

Look who's off to the so called "Orthodontist", for a "change of braces". Never mind coloured hair, do we have coloured braces ? I can't quite figure out what is on that chart.

I agree. I think the worst thing a farang can do is criticize the boy. To me the best way to deal with it is to either not meet him or, if you didn't know before meeting him, just not meet him again. And leave it at that.

When it comes to tattoos, I find that the boys on the apps seem to be quite proud of their tattoos. They usually make sure to show off their tattoos in their profile photos. That helps me to decide whether or not to meet him. But I would never criticize him either in person, in an app chat, or anywhere else. I think criticizing these boys is a big mistake. They're not going to like it.

Some of these things are fads. I believe that especially about the dyed hair and cosmetic braces. When we were that age we had fads too. I remember things like the fat shoelaces, tie dyed shirts, pet rocks, and the sneakers with lights in them. Fads have a way of eventually going away. I just wonder what the next set of fads will be.
