"The incident occurred at 5:30 AM on July 10th, 2024 in South Pattaya on Soi Yensabai. Eyewitness 43-year-old Mr. Sompong Rueangkham, a chicken rice vendor, informed The Pattaya News that he saw a foreign man violently attacking a Kuwaiti tourist, acting aggressively, and revving his car engine, causing fear among people in the vicinity."
Kuwaitis back in Pattaya

Does the return of the scum reduce the already low trade at the Sunee Plaza gay bars ?
I can't imagine wanting to go near the place in such circumstances.

Re: Kuwaitis back in Pattaya
I guarantee it won't increase it.
Here we go again. Were there any signs of police doing anything about it? My guess is it's going to be exactly the same as it's been for many years - the racing up and down the sois with nobody doing a thing to stop them and the businesses they rent from suffering no penalties of any kind.
Why Pattaya authorities, you know- the ones always worried about Pattaya's "good image" - let them get away with this behavior every year goes beyond me. WHY?
The foreigner who knocked out the Kuwaiti motorbike maniac - if they track him down, I hope they give him a medal rather than arresting him. As those from the UK might say, "Good show!"

Re: Kuwaitis back in Pattaya
The article was great news as the police are unwilling to do anything. Time locals took things in their own hands.

Re: Kuwaitis back in Pattaya
You mean the police are really concerned about the "good image" of Pattaya, rather than just collecting tea money ?
I must have missed that. No doubt full time residents will have examples of police action preserving that good image.
Re: Kuwaitis back in Pattaya
It was two Arabic gangs fighting about a woman. So an all-Arabic internal fight. But traffic incidents will surely follow.
As I understand it, it is school-break in Kuwait and that's why this happens every year at this time, with young Kuwaitis coming to Pattaya. And their main interest is apparently motorbike racing.

If you want to save yourself the bother of posting, just refer to the topic about the motorbike maniacs from last year. I can already see it's going to be exactly the same this year:

Re: Kuwaitis back in Pattaya
The main reasons these assholes come to Pattaya is to ride motorbikes and if there was a law that was enforced saying foreigners can’t rent motorbikes without the proper license. If a shop rents to a non licensed person they get a steep fine or have their bike seized. The enforcement of this should bee taken out of the hands of the local police and given to the Royal Thai Police in an effort to avoid payoffs as best as possible.

Re: Kuwaitis back in Pattaya
I agree. And the motorbikes should be confiscated and either auctioned off or just as good - destroy them. And any rental shop that illegally rented out motorbikes, every bike they have should be seized. If the motorbike rental shops want them back, let them have to win auctions. When more money is flowing out than flowing in, maybe they'll start taking just who they're renting to much more seriously.
There is absolutely no excuse for continuing, year after year, to let these people get away with this behavior.

Looks like it's not just Kuwaitis. I love this one. You folks get to decide for yourselves - who is more dangerous, this guy or the Kuwaiti motorbike maniacs?

Japanese Tourist Goes Berserk, Fights Girlfriend, Rams Sedan
by Asean Now
July 11, 2024
In a startling incident that shook the quiet streets of Pattaya last night, a Japanese tourist, later identified as Mr. Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi, unleashed mayhem following an alleged altercation with his girlfriend.
At approximately 9:30 PM, local authorities were alerted to a disturbance involving a vehicle ramming into objects and other cars along Soi Bua Khao, a popular night-time locale.
Eyewitnesses say the ordeal began outside an entertainment spot where Yamaguchi and his girlfriend were reportedly embroiled in a heated argument.
The dispute escalated rapidly when Yamaguchi, apparently enraged, got into his white Toyota Altis and deliberately drove into the establishment, reversing repeatedly into the structure. The scene turned even more chaotic as he proceeded to target nearby vehicles, causing substantial damage.
Local patrons and tourists scattered in panic as the car zigzagged down the street, colliding with motorcycles and side stalls. Quick thinking by some bystanders averted potential injuries. One local guard attempted to intervene, narrowly escaping as he dodged the errant vehicle, suffering minor cuts in the process.
The rampage drew to a halt after Yamaguchi's sedan careened into a parked tour bus, which prevented any further advancement.
Courageous locals managed to subdue the driver until the police arrived. Preliminary assessments by police suggest that the driver might have been influenced by substances other than alcohol, contributing to his erratic behavior.
Rescue teams were quick to respond, offering first aid before transporting Yamaguchi to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. The Pattaya City Police, under the direction of Deputy Inspector R.T.O. Itthiphon Tangchuthawisap, have taken Yamaguchi into custody.
They are coordinating with Japanese consular officials to further investigate the incident and support the ensuing legal processes.
This unexpected outbreak of violence has rattled the Pattaya community, sparking discussions on tourist safety and the adequacy of current measures to manage public disturbances.
As the case unfolds, local authorities are urging witnesses and those affected to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
