I've driven over that intersection thousands of times. Closed for road resurfacing? WHY? I have never encountered or seen any kind of problem there whatsoever. I have no idea why this area is in need of resurfacing. Is somebody's brother-in-law cashing in? And to top it off, these road "repairs" often last for months and cause all kinds of traffic problems.

Pattaya North Intersection on Sukhumvit Road to Be Closed for Road Resurfacing
By Aim Tanakorn
14 June, 2024
The Pattaya City Administration will be closing two lanes of traffic at the Pattaya North Intersection on Sukhumvit Road from Monday, June 17th, 2024, to Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, to carry out road resurfacing work.
The closure will affect both inbound and outbound lanes on the median strip side of the road. The affected section of the road is around 60 meters long and starts from in front of the water filter shop in the direction of Sri Racha and ends before the Caltex gas station.
Drivers coming from Naklua Road will not be able to turn right onto Pattaya North Road but can make a U-turn under Motorway 7 or at Pattaya Central Intersection.
Drivers coming from Pattaya North Road will not be able to turn right onto Sukhumvit Road but can use the left-turn lane and turn right at Parinya Intersection to reach Sukhumvit Road.
Pattaya City apologizes for any inconvenience and asks the public to avoid the area during this time to reduce traffic congestion.

Is anything in Pattaya done without corruption ?Gaybutton wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2024 10:15 am I've driven over that intersection thousands of times. Closed for road resurfacing? WHY? A couple of years ago, I saw them resurfacing part of North Road. The surface being dug up & replaced was in immaculate condition.
Also, beach road and the adjacent pavements have near continual work in progress. Once they finish one job, another one is created.

Yes. Of course I have no idea what that might be, but there must be something - mustn't there . . . ?
