In other words, be an honest organization completely dedicated to helping people and no thoughts of trying to line their own pockets.

Pattaya Police Pledge to be an Organization the Public Can Trust
By Tanakorn Panyadee
27 June, 2023
The new chief inspector of the Pattaya Police Station, Pol. Maj. Suchart Dusdee, instructed his subordinates to be service-oriented and take good care of citizens and tourists.
During a morning huddle on Monday, June 26th, Pol. Maj. Suchart said that every officer needed to be service-oriented and eager to make the Pattaya station an organization that the public could trust.
He instructed that police officers must inspect their weapons to ensure they were ready for use, as well as their vehicles, which must be in 100% operational condition, before carrying out their duties to serve the public.
Pol. Maj. Suchart also emphasized the four core values, abbreviated as COPS, to the officers, which are competency, overall-fairness, people-oriented, and service-minded.
Pattaya police hope to transition their image to one where people see them as caring, compassionate, and helping to serve and protect the people.

Re: Pattaya Police Pledge to be trustworthy
Surely the only way this organisation will become trustworthy is if there is an independent organisation to investigate and prosecute the police ?
With long jail sentences or even executions for the worst offenders.

Why don't the BIB keep their weapons clean? Because they haven't fired one in over a century.
Why haven't they fired a weapon in over a century? Because they can't afford the bullets.
Why can't they afford the bullets? Because they're paid less than an average 7/11 clerk.
Why are they're paid less than an average 7/11 clerk? Because 7/11 clerks actually provide a service.

The 7/11 staff also don't need bribes to do their job and they're mostly honest, as I've only been short changed once in over 15 years.
When setting up an independent organisation to investigate the police, perhaps 7/11 staff would be one of the reliable professions to recruit from.

Demand of THB140-billion lands 20 police officers, 10 civilians in deep trouble
Arrest warrants have been issued for more than 20 police officers and some 10 civilians for alleged involvement in a 140-million-baht bribery scandal.
Deputy National Police chief Pol General Surachate Hakparn said on Saturday that an ongoing investigation into the case was expected to be completed in two weeks.
Speaking at the Police Club on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Surachate said investigators at Pathum Thani’s Khu Khot Police Station called on the court to issue the arrest warrants.
He said the warrants were issued after the suspects failed to respond to an earlier summons for interrogation.
Police officers involved in the case are from Chonburi’s Pattaya City.
In mid-June, six people filed a complaint with Khu Khot police accusing Chonburi police chief Pol Maj-General Kamphon Leelaprapaporn and his team of demanding 140 million baht from them to avoid prosecution over charges of running an online gambling business.
Surachate said on Saturday that those facing arrest warrants include police officers and their civilian accomplices.
“The plaintiffs are accused of running an online gambling site. The police officers’ job is to arrest them, not demand bribes,” Surachate said.
He added that the national police chief has instructed relevant supervisors to deal with the case in a transparent, straightforward manner.

An independent body is needed to go after corruption. Relying on a corrupt organisation to investigate itself makes no sense at all.

Re: Pattaya Police Pledge to be trustworthy
Agreed. At least there is one apparently honest cop who has been at the forefront of trying to stop corruption and bring the perpetrators to justice. That is Deputy National Police chief Pol General Surachate Hakparn, aka "Big Joke". I have great respect for him.
By the way, "Joke" is not joke as in funny. Joke is the Thai word for a popular Thai rice porridge dish. That is where his nickname comes from, although I don't know how he acquired that particular nickname, but there it is.
