In Thailand, I have seen lots of people wearing face masks and hand gel has been provided at entrances to shopping malls, on the MRT etc. Usually even with some hand gel remaining in the bottle.
In the UK, which currently has more declared active cases than Thailand, I've seen no additional provision of hand gel. Obviously there are already lots of hand sanitiser dispensers in places like Heathrow, but in shops and on the underground, forget it. Of course, a much nicer & cheaper range of small hand gel bottles is available to buy and carry with you.
I wouldn't expect face masks to be widely worn, considering the advice tends to be that they are not particularly effective, whereas wearing them is encouraged in Asian countries.
The UK has at least managed to conduct a large number of tests, whereas the US has had big difficulties getting testing up and running. I suppose the number of confirmed cases there may increase when they get their act together.

I did not miss it. I simply disagree with it. I see no reason to delete recovered cases and I don't agree with you that they should be deleted. Suppose some country had 50 cases and 49 of them were cured and sent home. If you think that country should list it as 1 case, you'll have a hard time convincing me to agree. To me that is not providing accurate information, but rather providing propagandized information. In my opinion the total number of cases and cures should both be listed.
Do you have a problem with that? If yes, why?

More events are being canceled due to virus concerns.
Based on other news items I have been reading, officials are trying to decide what, if anything, to do about Songkran. There seems to be disagreement about how to handle it.
No matter how they handle it and what decisions are made, despite the fact that no cases have been reported in Pattaya, for the first time since even before living here, assuming the water splashing will take place, I will not be walking through it this year, although I am still planning to drive through, but stay in my car.

Meanwhile, The Thai Tourism Authority Governor today said Songkran will at this time likely go forward as planned, however major events and concerts likely not take place for the biggest holiday of the year.

Pattaya City added the Pattaya Music Festival, a multi day event that draws tens of thousands of tourists, mostly domestic, to Pattaya to the list of cancelled events this evening.
The event was cancelled due to concerns of the worldwide outbreak of the Covid19 Coronavirus.
Dozens of famous Thai artists were set to play on four stages in Pattaya in one of the cities landmark domestic tourism events.
Pattaya City Officials have stressed there is no outbreak in Pattaya and no cases and the cancellation is out of caution and for preventative measures.

Thailand announces a 14 day self quarantine for those returning from or visiting from certain designated countries:

Ministerial announcements specify the following four measures for enforcement:
Visitors and Thai citizens returning from the high risk areas will be subject to 14-days home quarantine, even if they are cleared of the disease, unless they have permission from health officials.
Those who do not have a permanent residence or lodging in Thailand are required to show officials, upon arrival, evidence of where officials can locate them during the 14-day period.
Those who have flu-like symptoms upon their arrival, such as a body temperature exceeding 37.5oC, a runny nose, sore throat or breathing difficulties, will be sent to state hospitals for further testing, treatment or quarantine, depending on the seriousness of the illness.
For those who cannot produce evidence of a formal lodging, such as a hotel or hostel, during their visit in Thailand, immigration officials are authorized to send them back home or to allow them entry subject to 14-days of self-quarantine.
Foreign visitors or Thai returnees from the high risk areas are required to file a daily report on their health with designated health officials during the quarantine period and, if they become unwell or suspect they may be sick, they must inform health officials within three hours so that they can undergo further testing, receive treatment or be isolated.

Shoppers in Greater Bangkok are quickly emptying supermarket shelves of long-lasting items like instant noodles, packed rice, tissue paper, tinned fish and drinking water as fears mount over the coronavirus epidemic.
Large retail operators including Tops Supermarket, Tesco Lotus, The Mall Group and Big C Supercenter acknowledged that these items have been snapped up quickly since the weekend.
They are also in consensus that fear of the deadly virus is the primary cause for the shopping spree.
"We have never seen these kinds of purchases," said Chairat Petchdakul, vice-president for supermarket merchandising at The Mall Group Co, the operator of Gourmet Market.
"At first we thought it stemmed from the payday, but the majority of the goods the shoppers bought were long-lasting items like instant noodles, drinking water and tinned fish," he said. "We then assumed that the demand was from growing concerns about the coronavirus epidemic. However, we will closely watch shoppers' behaviour again during these weekdays."
Mr Chairat gave assurances that supplies of the mentioned products are adequate, though with perhaps a slight delay in delivery from producers.
The Mall Group says it has doubled the inventory of goods from a 15-day supply to 30 days to prevent shortages and ensure that consumers have a sufficient supply of the products they are looking for.
A worker at the Gourmet Market in Siam Paragon, who asked not to be named, said shoppers were forming long queues at the tills to pay for groceries last weekend.
Workers at the Tops Chidlom branch, Big C Supercenter at Future Park Rangsit and Tesco Lotus on Nakhon In Road in Nonthaburi made similar observations of the buying phenomenon since last Friday.
Mintita Thowkam, 33, a company employee, said she's begun hoarding goods because she is afraid of the coronavirus and is not confident in the government's measures to control the spread.
"I don't know whether the government's agencies have efficient measures to handle big groups of Thai workers who are coming from South Korea," she said. "If the measures are not serious enough, the outcome will be terrible."
Thailand's embassy in Seoul has been informed by the South Korean Immigration Office that more than 5,000 Thais reported to the office from December last year to March 1, according to the Foreign Ministry.
"I'm quite worried about this, so I came to Tesco Lotus hypermarket for products to stock up for 1-2 months," Ms Mintita said, adding that she also found some products missing from shelves on Tuesday, including Mama instant noodles with tom yum kung flavour.
Pun Paniengvait, manager of the president's office at Thai President Foods Plc, the maker of Mama instant noodles, said supplies are assured because total production capacity for all instant noodle brands, excluding imported products, is about 10 million packets a day.
Production utilisation is now 70-80%, so production could still be extended to 15 million packets per day.
Per capita consumption of instant noodles in Thailand is about 45.9 packets per year.
"Don't worry about a product shortage," Mr Pun said. "The capacity is more than enough to serve the whole Thai population."

AYUTTHAYA: The Ayutthaya World Heritage Fair 2019, scheduled for March 13-22, has been postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus threat.
The fair is usually held in the middle of December every year. Because of budgetary constraints, the Ayutthaya World Heritage Fair 2019 was put off until March 13-22.
Because of the Covid-19 threat, an urgent meeting of the organising committee, chaired by provincial governor Panu Yaemsri, was held yesterday.
The meeting decided to postpone the fair again for an indefinite period.
The Ayutthaya World Heritage Fair has been held for nearly 30 consecutive years, usually in the middle of December. In addition to the world heritage sites it features light and sound presentations and always draws a large number of Thai and foreign tourists.
