Will You Miss Obama?
I will miss him for his intellect and his ability to connect with people similar to Bill Clinton in that respect. If I slight him for anything it would be his soft approach to foreign affairs ie. the Red Line in Syria.

Re: Will You Miss Obama?
I hope that I will not miss him. I think he's been a mediocre president (to say something nice towards the end of his presidency), but I will surely miss him in case his successor is worse.
Re: Will You Miss Obama?
He meant well and is clearly a decent man. On other hand he allowed a war-criminal to lecture him in the White House- a racist- and has yet to stand-up to him. Presumably he's too scared of AIPAC. He has presided over the death of the two-sate solution to the colonisation issue out of sheer cowardice.
Nevertheless, the choice now is between a war-monger ( prepare the coffins for US soldiers and thousands of people in the middle East who are the wrong colour and/or the wrong religion) or a man who is a buffoon . In other words, it'll get worse.

Re: Will You Miss Obama?
He failed to rock the boat.
He got there with ideas in his head and got quickly beaten down by the party system and the unelected men in smokey rooms who hold all the money and all the power. He didn't do anything disastrous but neither did he do anything exceptional.
You now move on to either Hillary, who really will be happy just to realise her ambition to be The Prez or Trump who is a fruitloop with stupid notions but who will bend to whatever actions will make him richer. The nutty rhetoric would be beaten down just as the fanciful good notions of Obama were.
There is a part of me that does want Trump to win, just out of curiosity to see what would actually happen. Alas, even as a gambler, the stakes in this case are just a tad high to sasiate my idle meandering mind. I do hope the race remains close all the way to the day before as my intention is to bet on a Hillary win which I personally see as a sure thing.

Anyone presently in Las Vegas? I'm curious who the odds makers think is going to win.Captain Kirk wrote:my intention is to bet on a Hillary win which I personally see as a sure thing.

Bookies are firmly with Clinton. The odds have shortened on her winning unfortunately which is bad news for me. I fearthey will shorten further the nearer the election gets. Currently it is around 1/3 Clinton or 5/2 TrumpGaybutton wrote:Anyone presently in Las Vegas? Yes, I will miss both President Obama and the first lady, Michelle Obama. They both brought class and style to the White House.
Re: Will You Miss Obama?
I think history will judge the Obama presidency favorably. The mandate for change was sabotaged by the Great Recession and reactionary Tea Party Republicans and racism. Make America Great Again really is Make America White Again. Obama’s accomplishments are many and I will miss him and Michelle:

I'm not american therefore when I first read this, I thought it was quite rude and offensive. The Obama daughters seem to be well brought up and wholesome and should not be subjected to such a question.
