I am far from naive. It's just that I am not into the same kind of violence.

I fail to see how what that quote has to do with this.Undaunted wrote:"A closed mind is like a closed book; just a block of wood" (Betty Boop).
Apparently you have no intention of addressing any the things I brought up in my previous post. Seems to me the mind that's closed belongs to one "Undaunted."
Are you volunteering to be the executioner of the family members of the terrorist? How will you do it? Shoot them? Gas them? Electrocute them? Hang them? Burn them at the stake? Push them out of a helicopter? Throw them from the roof of a tall building? - people who have committed no crime whatsoever, but are simply unfortunate enough to be in the terrorist's family?
Will these executions be public? Maybe on broadcast TV? Maybe I'll be munching on a bowl of popcorn while watching you kill the guy's daughter. Maybe he has a large family. The executions can last all day. There will be pauses, of course, for commercials.
How are you going to explain to an 11 year old or a 14 year old or anyone in the family why you're going to kill them? What will you say to them, sorry?

How are you going to explain to the children of American terrorist victums that the only thing that their killer got was death which he cherished.

Don't answer a question with a question.Undaunted wrote:How are you going to explain to the children of American terrorist victums that the only thing that their killer got was death which he cherished.

Terrorists are also adaptive; once President Undaunted is in power, they will simply ensure that the families are brought out of harm's way on time. Maybe they're even a little bit nasty, when President Undaunted's death squad arrives they could simply blow up the family home to give them a warm welcome...
I've got another question though. Would that same principle be applied to other crimes, or only to acts of terrorism? Arguably, rapists are just as despicable. Having a rapist's mother raped in retribution also sounds like a potent deterrent to me. Since she has raised a rapist, it also shouldn't be difficult to establish at least a modicum of guilt to justify it.

Now who has more credibility, Gandhi or Betty Boop?
