Just what we need - Pokemon Go now in Thailand and Southeast Asia

I guess they're not staring into their mobile phones enough already. Pokemon Go has now become available in Thailand and you can bet it won't be long before they're all going to be out there trying to catch whatever it is they're trying to catch.

I don't begrudge young people getting all excited by a new game to play. I certainly remember waiting in a long line to play Pong when it first came out and I also remember being thrilled when I bought my first computer - Atari's 8K home computer. Now it's Pokemon Go. I just hope it won't be something dangerous for the Thais playing and won't be dangerous for us when one of the items they're trying to catch happens to be right where you happen to be.

Maybe it's a lot of fun, but include me out.

It's not just Thailand. Here's a list of all the Southeast Asian countries where Pokemon Go is now available:

Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.

I notice China and Myanmar are not included on the list. Don't be disappointed, though. You'll still be able to play during your next trip to New Guinea.
