Last week I tried the Western double bacon cheeseburger at Carl's Jr. It was very tasty, lots of bacon and massive.
A step above the other USA fast food restaurants in Thailand.
Today, I tried the chili cheeseburger and it was also very tasty and not as massive as the Western double bacon.
They have lots of chicken choices as well.
It's on the 3rd floor at Central on the beach side.
If you're very hungry, go for the double bacon. I'll stick with the chili cheeseburger.
Carl's Jr. in Central Mall, Pattaya.

Was shopping at central today and remembered Carl's jr. not easy to find, last place facing beach road on the third floor.
I've always wondered why fast food burgers have no resemblance to those made at home, Carl's is no exception close your eyes and it might as well be Burger King, one visit was enough for me.

I'm with undaunted on this one.
I never tried Carl's when I lived in USA but gave it a shot when one opened in Bangkok. I also had a bacon cheese burger but did not like it at all. I would give Burger King the edge. The best burger in Bangkok is The Fire House. The place that calls itself 'Bangkok Best Burgers' are the worst burgers. Iron Ferries and the Roadhouse I would give honorable mention.
After the demise of The Woodstock restaurant and Duke's in Bangkok, the only place left for good 'American' style burgers is the Firehouse.

There are, in fact, two other burger places in Bangkok with excellent burgers beside the Firehouse. My current favorite is the El Gaucho by Terminal 21. The burgers there are among the very best I've had anywhere (they are pricey!).
The other place I like is Hyde and Seek on Ploenchit, not far from the BTS. Excellent burgers, but a bit on the small side.
I have also been told that Shuffle on Sukumvit Soi 47 has very fine burgers.

Always looking for a good burger in Bangkok so I took a look at the above menus.. To say El Gaucho is pricey is probably understated. 700 baht for a bacon cheeseburger after mandatory service and tax are added , to me is ridiculous in Bangkok. I can get some pretty fabulous dinners for that in Bangkok for that amount of money.richsilver wrote:There are, in fact, two other burger places in Bangkok with excellent burgers beside the Firehouse. Hyde and Seek appears to be considerably more reasonable and might give them a try but it looks like at least to me Firehouse is a much more reasonable choice for a very good burger which I have had a number of times.

Thanks for the information richsilver. I've seen adds for El Gaucho Argentina Steak House but I did not know that they offered burgers. I've not heard of Hyde and Seek. I'll put that on my short list.

Granted, the topic is USA fast food restaurants and not comparing it to fine dining establishments .
I had another chili cheeseburger yesterday and enjoyed it very much. I like the French fries too, which can be
ordered without salt which is my preference . Perhaps other fast food joints also offer chili cheeseburgers and if
so, I'll check them out sometime.
