Changes at Rich Man Poor Man

Post by RichLB »

Had dinner last night at RMPM and it was blissfully quiet inside. Eddie (the owner) dropped by our table and told us he had put his foot down on quieting the loud table of guys who turn the place into a deafening beer hall. It seems they are oil rig workers who come to Pattaya every other month to let their hair down and make RMPM their hangout. Eddie has told them to either not come any more or keep their banter at a conversational level. If the noise level has kept you away from the great food at RMPM, you might want to give it another try.

Now if he would do something about enforcing the no smoking law I would be willing to try it again.

I was with RichLB last night. Rich Man-Poor Man has always been one of my favorites. Now there is also a display case featuring several different kinds of breads and desserts for sale. Eddie gave us a sample of two of the breads, and they both were very good. He said he found a bakery near the Don Muang airport in Bangkok and that's where he's getting the breads from. He said that bakery supplies several of the higher end hotels and now they're supplying Rich Man-Poor Man as well.

Smoking is still permitted in the restaurant.

Instead of complaining about smoking why just not go when you know the owner is oblivious to your concerns?

I have only been there once. I won't go back until they change the smoking policy.
