Russian Olympics - Stand Up to Evil

I'm curious about what actions we can take to deliver a message to Putin and the Russian people that LGBT will not be good little queers and behave while Russia persecutes and encourages homophobia. It started in Germany in 1933 and the world said nothing. Now it seems to be happening again. So, what kinds of actions can we take? There is already a boycott of Russian made vodka and I sure support that one. Since it's all about the pocketbook, how about letters of protests to companies that sponsor the NBC broadcast promising to refuse to buy their products. If it can be done politely, how about letting our Russian friends here in Thailand and elsewhere know how outraged we are at their countries behavior. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I don't have any Russian friends and I don't buy Russian products or patronize Russian restaurants, so I guess I am doing all I can.

There will be a lot of rumblings, some groups will make a stand and in the end nothing will transpire and the games will be held in Russia.

It's history being repeated. The same happen in Berlin 1936. In 1940 the games were even going to held in Tokyo but Japan decided against it at the last minute.

Once the final list of the sponsors come out, all we can do as a expat in Thailand is to boycott those products. Getting any more active as a "guest" in Thailand might not be well received by the Thai government. If you're in a western country with liberties and free speech protection then more active participation in boycotts would be a good start.
