Pattaya Prepares for Biggest Yet Pattaya International Pride Festival in June, Expected to Draw Tens of Thousands of Excited Tourists and LGBTQIA+ Community Members

By Adam Judd

May 5, 2026

Pattaya, May 5th, 2026– Pattaya City is gearing up to host the highly anticipated “Pattaya International Pride Festival 2026,” set to take place from June 26 to 28. The event, now in its seventh year, promises to deliver a spectacular celebration of diversity, inclusion, and equality along Pattaya Beach.

Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawat presided over a preparatory meeting at Pattaya City Hall, with relevant agencies attending in full force to ensure the festival’s success.

The Pattaya International Pride Festival has become a globally awaited event, drawing massive crowds each year. Previous editions have attracted more than 10,000 participants in the parade alone, featuring up to 100 fully booked parade floats stretching over a 2.8-kilometer route. Organizers want to once again boost the local economy and tourism sector by attracting both Thai and international visitors while promoting LGBTQIA+ rights, equality, and greater understanding of gender diversity and inclusion.

During the meeting, officials discussed key operational aspects, including venue setup, security measures, medical services, traffic management, and public cleanliness.

Traffic arrangements, particularly on Pattaya Second Road, remain under review. No final decision has been made on whether the road will be closed or kept open during the event. Authorities plan additional consultations with relevant agencies to minimize disruption to residents and motorists.

The festival is expected to reinforce Pattaya’s reputation as a welcoming destination that celebrates diversity while delivering significant economic benefits to the city. Further details on the program and traffic updates will be announced as planning progresses.

Thanks GB for sharing this important update.

Do you know if there will also be a gay pride event over in Jomtien this year?
I checked on the internet but I could not find any news published yet.
I will keep checking with SWING Thailand (Service Workers Friends Foundation) to see if they will eventually post any news about potential gay pride festivities in Jomtien.

I was outside of Thailand last year - so I missed those year 2025 pride events.

However, back in 2024 there were 2 distinct Gay Pride events on 2 different separate weekends.

PATTANA - the Thai owner of Central Festival sponsored the traditional Pattaya City PRIDE parade and related celebrations.

Then the following weekend, SWING and the Jomtien Supertown Complex sponsored the 2nd PRIDE parade and related festivities in Jomtien at both Dongtan Beach and also in the Supertown Complex.

I attended both gay pride events and they were great.

What I found quite disappointing was the absence of Boyztown's participation in the Pattaya City Community Pride events.

This is similar to what I witnessed during my 12 years of living in Rome, Italy where I saw the gay community fracture after the contentious Gay World Pride event in year 2000.

Whoever is the owner of the below web page put together some very interesting statistics of Boyztown vs Jomtien:

Welcome back & thank you for the link.

Whether he's actually visited Pattaya isn't clear.

Has anyone:
(i) Seen Pattaya Soi 3 pedestrianised ?
(ii) Enjoyed beers for 50~80 baht in Jomtien ? 80~100 seems more normal & it's usually served in bottles.
(iii) Been to Cupidol recently ? It's renamed as Classic Boys at least a couple of years ago.
(iv) Jomtien Complex is further from the beach than Boyztown, but he makes it sound nearer. Not that this matters at all.

Hi Jun,

Yes I came back - as I disappeared for >180 days last year in Cebu, Philippines and Da Nang, Vietnam to avoid becoming a tax resident in Thailand in tax year 2025. Unfortunately, it appears that I will become a tax resident this year 2026 - so, let me see what my Thai tax accountant will tell me - as it was his suggestion that I disappear for >180 days in 2025.

Jun, you are right - whoever is the author / owner of the timpaemi.com web page made some gross errors about both Boyztown and the Jomtien Supertown Complex - which he/she states that it exists on soi 8 (hahaha) - as soi 8 is much further south.

I only found the above timpaemi.com web link when I ran a Google search trying to find if SWING had published any gay pride events and/or dates for Jomtien for this year 2026.

Back in year 2024, the Pride Parade announcements for Jomtien were issued late - as the Pattaya Pride Parade (sponsored by the very deep pockets PATTANA entity) announced their events for Pattaya City way earlier than SWING.

We need to remember that the Gay Pride events for Jomtien are more grass-root oriented and funded - hence why the late announcements - unfortunately, there are no entities (that I am aware of) who have deep pockets to fund Jomtien Gay Pride activities.

Why is that disappointing? It's a gay event and Boyztown nowadays is mostly about straight thai men and the straight chinese ladies who like them.
What's next, asking the gay pride parade to have a walk through the dark ruins and rubble of Sunee plaza just for old times sake?

Hilarious.

My main disappointment with Thai gay pride events is the high proportion of "ladies" and fat "ladies". Mainly as I have no interest in that part of the scene.
This observation is based on past photos, as I have not been in Thailand when these events are on.
