This "step up" ought to include certain BiB who think demanding tea money is proper police procedure.

Thailand’s Tourist Police Step Up Operations in Pattaya

Thailand’s Tourist Police recently held a major meeting with embassy and consulate representatives, as well as foreign volunteer networks in Pattaya, Chonburi. Authorities are ramping up efforts to tackle:
• Nominee business arrangements (foreigners illegally operating businesses through Thai fronts)
• Online scam networks
• Overstaying visas
• Transnational crime & drug networks
• Driving without a valid license

Tourist Police Deputy Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Phongsiam Meekhanthong confirmed that proactive measures are now in place, with stronger intelligence-sharing between Thai authorities and foreign missions to protect both tourists and Thailand’s reputation as a safe destination.

A reminder to all foreigners in Thailand:
• Always carry a valid driver’s license recognized in Thailand
• Respect traffic laws — violations are a leading cause of accidents in tourist areas
• Make sure your visa status is up to date

If you see suspicious activity, you can report it to the Tourist Police at 1155 (available 24/7 in multiple languages).

I also noticed the bullet points didn't include a clampdown on collection of tea money.

Regarding the above mentioned requirement =

A reminder to all foreigners in Thailand:
• Always carry a valid driver’s license recognized in Thailand

I don't walk around with my original documents (passport, driving licenses, etc.).
I have laminated copies made of the originals that are always with me on my person.
2 years ago I lost my Thai motorcycle license on Koh Larn and I learned my lesson the hard way.

I was telling the Mots Services team about my misfortune on Koh Larn and they installed on my phone the DLT QR Licence app, which displays your motorbike and car Thai driving licenses - which you can display to the police during a police check. Assuming that you never lose your phone - this is a great invention.

It can be obtained in the Google Play store or the Apple equivalent using the key words "DLT QR Licence"

Enjoy

That can certainly be useful. A couple times I drove my car and realized I had forgotten to take my wallet, where I keep my driving license. If I had an accident I could have been in real trouble.

I had a look at the app. It is almost entirely in Thai, so you might need some help getting it installed and working.
