I suppose if I had kept the bank book updated maybe that would have been enough.
Knowing that we have to make a small bank transaction in-person the same day we go to immigration for an extension, they (Immigration) also wants to see the last 12 months of bank transactions in your book. If your new bank book did not show the last 12 months, then you would have had to also submit your old bank book.

This is almost certainly why the immigration agent sent you back to your bank.

If this is the case, then there is no new requirement.

Moral of this story: NEVER discard an old bank book or passport.

I didn't update that one any more than this one. Again, if your bank will give you the same list as I had to submit, then get it and bring it, along with latest and last bank book. Then I don't see how that can be a problem at immigration.

That's one lesson I just learned - the hard way . . .

Don't feel bad. I remember going for an extension once after diligently verifying that I had all of the documents I needed using a checklist.. and then ended up forgetting my Goddam passport...

Hilarious. I suspect most of us have done something equivalent.

I introduced checklists after going on holiday to southern Europe without packing any underwear, sometime in the 20th century. There was also a case when I was on the way to the airport & realised I didn't have a passport. Luckily only 3 miles down the road in the car.

Sometimes, I print off the checklist, attach it to a clip board and tick boxes. I also double check critical things like wallet, passport etc before walking out of the door.
Some minor items still get missed :?

Today, PCEC (Pattaya City Expat Club) posted some interesting tidbits about the recent problem with getting the bank letter for Jomtien immigration for someone on a retirement visa using the monthly income verification method.

PCEC also posted about the DLT QR App

And PCEC also posted about the latest procedure on how to get an appointment at the Bang Lamung DLT office - with a reference regarding the timing of the required residence certificate.
