All in all it comes down to a personal decision as to paying any Thai income tax you may owe or taking the risk that if you do not, it will not be detected. As we hear often in Thailand - "Up to you" Do keep in mind that things can change and the Thailand Revenue Department has up to 10 years after the filing due date to require one to produce supporting documents.

In my case, I do not file a Thai income tax return because under the Dual Tax Agreement with the USA my government pension is taxable only in the USA as is also the case with US Social Security payments.

The Pattaya City Expats Club has several comprehensive web pages regarding Expats and Thai income tax. They provide guidance on how to determine if money remitted to Thailand from a foreign source is or is not taxable in Thailand and how to calculate any tax liability for any taxable income. They also show the penalties for non filing and non payment of any Thai income taxes owed. The PCEC's web pages can be found here: https://pcec.club/Expat-and-Thai-Income-Tax. The pages also have links to the Thai Revenue Department's (TRD's) English language pages including a page in English where one can download their English language 2025 tax forms in PDF format. These forms now include a place in the tax computation to offset taxes already paid on the income in the source country.
