My Cambodian friend just hid for a while.
However, his bar has a potential escape route at the back. All he has to do is jump the fence, which even I could probably still manage.
However, he seems to accept that one day he's going to get caught and sent home.

I take the view that even if they sent 50 police to the complex, they're not going to catch everyone. There are enough escape routes for some to escape.

Your Place has been renamed as Fun Bar, ie the same name as the sister bar across the road.
The farang who I believe is sponsoring this made a rare appearance during my last visit.

The daily shows continue at the adjacent Sunee Bar. They should be commended for having cute and enthusiastic boys with no shirts. However, the music volume varies from too loud to far too loud. They still get plenty of customers, so perhaps some don't mind that.

Fun Bar had another party. I gather it was to celebrate putting the same name on both bars.
The show started off with the boys from Sunee Bar. These are very good. All cute and enthusiastic. All they really need to do is turn the volume down slightly.
This was followed by a shorter show from The Best Bar. Every single one of their numbers had a ladyboy in a leotard and silly headgear with a supporting cast of boys. I've never understood why this format is so common.

That is another reason why I hardly ever bother with the bars anymore. I don't recall ever meeting anyone who does like those kinds of shows, but there they are.

For reasons I don't understand, the lady boy led shows seem quite popular.
I just don't get why people who like boys have so much interest in seeing them disguised as women.
I also dislike seeing boys always cast in a supporting role, when they should be centre stage and second to no one.

Fortunately, there are plenty of bars with no show at all. Also, Sunee and M-Bar have boy led shows.

M Bar
I visited just after the start of the 10pm show. The show has much more of a focus on erotic content than in previous years.
There was one act projecting shadows onto a sheet.
Another in underwear
One where boys massage some kind of oil onto themselves
One where they wear towels and drop the underwear onto the floor
Also one with a Lao boy in a bath with lots of soap suds. He starts of with a g string and removes that, but does h8de his tackle from direct view.

No lady boys anywhere near this show. I like it.

Best part of the show, right there. Maybe after so many years, bar owners are finally wising up.

I detest seeing so many show offerings with a lady boy as the centrepiece and worse still, often in a leotard and some hideous headgear. As someone who likes boys, I never understood the attraction of this. I also don't like seeing the boys cast in a supporting role.

On the other hand, bars with such shows do tend to attract customers and survive.

I'm hoping the no-ladyboy show attracts even more customers. If that happens, maybe other bar shows will take the hint. I'm not so sure shows attracting ladyboys are what is attracting customers. I think perhaps the lack of any other kinds of shows is the reason. All I know is in all my years in Pattaya I have never met another farang who said he likes those ladyboy shows, but I've met plenty who don't.

Sun Bar in Jomtiem Complex has closed. A truck was loading everything from the bar today. Sun and most of his staff have moved to his friend's PP Bar across the soi (Previously Dragon bar). Immigration raided Sun bar last week and took away many boys.
