This is not exactly the first time this sort of story has appeared. There has been enough of them that I thought it was time to post one of them. I've been seeing such stories around once a week lately.

Remember a few years ago when Thailand found it necessary to hand out behavior pamphlets to Chinese tourists? Maybe some sort of hint about appropriate and inappropriate behavior should be given to other incoming nationalities too.

Actually, these antics don't bother me at all, but I certainly understand why the authorities are appalled. I don't see anything inherently wrong with it, but we absolutely, positively cannot risk harm to Pattaya's "family oriented" global view. Give me a break . . .

Foreign Tourists Skinny Dip on Pattaya Beach in Full View of Shocked Onlookers

A group of four foreign tourists sparked outrage and drew a large crowd of shocked onlookers after disrobing before entering the sea at Pattaya Beach in an early-morning incident that has gone viral online.

The event took place around 5:00 a.m. on March 6th near the old pier on Pattaya Beach Road. A circulating video shows the group, two men and two women, appearing to be two couples, casually walking into the water while surrounded by early risers, other tourists, and locals.

Filmed by 33-year-old local motorbike taxi driver Mr. Natthawut Phonyiam, who was on the scene looking for customers, the clip captures the two men removing all their clothing and entering the sea completely nude. The women removed their outer layers, leaving only underwear, before joining in with playful splashing and apparent enjoyment, seemingly oblivious to the growing audience.

Witnesses gathered in disbelief, many expressing astonishment at the public display in a crowded, family-oriented tourist zone where people frequently walk along the beach, even at this hour of the day.

Mr. Natthawut described the tourists as carefree, treating the dip as lighthearted fun despite the public setting and visible attention from onlookers.

The incident has triggered strong criticism from locals, other visitors, and social media users, who argue that such behavior is inappropriate for Pattaya, one of Thailand’s premier beach destinations drawing millions of international tourists each year. Public nudity and acts of indecency are illegal in these areas under Thai law, and the episode has renewed calls for greater respect for local norms and decorum in shared public spaces.

No reports indicate police intervention during the event, and local authorities have not yet issued any statements on potential follow-up actions. The video continues to circulate widely, intensifying online discussions about tourist etiquette and its effects on Pattaya’s reputation as a welcoming, family-friendly destination.

That's the same beach that has prostututes all the way from Walking Street to past the police station.
In the case of Jomtien beach, the prostitutes harass people who have no interest at all in their services.

But they're more concerned about skinny dipping at 5:00 am ????? When the kind of people who shouldn't see that ought to be tucked up in bed.

As Pattaya has become plagued with throngs of Indian tourists they should be advised on how to act and an emphasis on personal hygiene.
