Trouble With Wise

Post by Undaunted »

I haven’t used Wise since November so yesterday I attempted to make a transfer and I noticed their format is new and was not easy to find the options as to how I would transfer the funds ACH etc. after a few tries I managed and it said it would take 5 days for something that often took minutes.
Wise has been my method of choice for years however, now I will be using a service called Remitty they have an app for android and for iOS.

After you try it, please let us know how well it works for you and if their fees and exchange rates are comparable to WISE. It is good to know there are alternatives to WISE for those who prefer to use something else.

I'll also be interested to hear how if works and what the total cost is.

In particular, does the receiving bank charge a fee for receiving forex ?

I've also read that Remitly offer a zero spread rate for your first transaction and then apply a spread for all subsequent transactions.

That website certainly shows a good rate, but I believe it's the special introductory rate for first time customers. The cost of subsequent transactions is likely to be higher.

Also does your Thai bank charge for receiving forex off Remitly? Wise is one of few providers to circumvent that.
