Who receives the stolen property?

Post by Gaybutton »

The reason I posted this article is to illustrate that while there is publicity when thieves get caught after stealing property, but I can't recall ever seeing any publicity about any action taken against whoever they sell the stolen items to, even when it would be obvious to any idiot the items are stolen.

The article says the thief "claimed he sold the stolen items to obtain money to buy milk for his child." He sold the stolen items - to who?

Neighbor Arrested for Burglary in Pattaya Area, Claims Theft Was to Buy Milk for Child, Drugs Found During Arrest

January 18, 2026

Police in Banglamung district arrested a 36-year-old man accused of sneaking into his neighbor’s home to steal valuables, claiming he needed money to buy milk for his child. During the raid on his residence, officers discovered drug paraphernalia and arrested another man for drug use.

The arrest took place on January 17th, 2026, when Pol. Col. Sarawut Nuchanart, the Chief of the Banglamung Police Station, ordered a team led by Pol. Lt. Col. Yongyuth Wan Nuea (Deputy Superintendent, Crime Suppression), Pol. Lt. Col. Wutthipong Kasa (Superintendent, Crime Suppression), and Pol. Lt. Natthan Thanya Chantawong (Deputy Superintendent, Investigations) along with investigators to apprehend Mr. Itthisak (nicknamed “San”) Phunsawat, 36, at his residence in an unmarked house on Soi Kraek 4/1.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed on January 13th, 2026, at around 2:00 p.m., when Mr. Santisak, 51, reported to Pol. Lt. Phinan Sri Thongrungthip (Deputy Superintendent, Investigations) that an intruder had broken into his home in Soi Kraek 4 and stolen several items, including:

– One main electrical cable entering the house
– One concrete drill
– Three small drills
– One refrigerator compressor
– One additional roll of electrical cable

The victim provided clear CCTV footage capturing the suspect in the act, which served as key evidence for the investigation.

Through analysis of the CCTV footage and local inquiries, police identified that the suspect lived in the house directly behind the victim’s property, separated only by a shared fence. Officers conducted a raid and successfully arrested Mr. Itthisak.

During the search of the residence, police found Mr. Thotsaphon Hantip (nicknamed “Bo”), a friend of the suspect, actively using narcotics inside the house. Drug paraphernalia was seized as evidence.

Under questioning, Mr. Itthisak confessed to being the person shown in the CCTV footage and admitted to committing the burglary. He claimed he sold the stolen items to obtain money to buy milk for his child.

Police charged Mr. Itthisak with burglary in a dwelling and possession and use of Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine-related). Mr. Thotsaphon was charged with use of Category 1 narcotics.

Both suspects were taken to Banglamung Police Station for further legal proceedings.
