Maybe we'll see an influx of Burmese boys showing up on the scene to put the spark back in evening entertainment. Fingers crossed.
I'd love to be the one doing the hiring.

Burmese Boys
Re: Burmese Boys
I don't quite understand why there are so few Burmese boys in Pattaya, legally or illegally.
The last time I was in Yangon (around Jan 2020?), there were lots of full service masseurs who were good & charged a pittance for their services. So there are boys willing to do the job. With a lack of tourists at home & a low GDP per capita, why wouldn't they go to Thailand ?
With the political issues in Cambodia, I presume the top country for supplying foreign boys is now Laos (population under 8m).
For comparison, ballpark populations are 54m in Myanmar, 18m in Cambodia & 101m in Vietnam.

Re: Burmese Boys
After the coup in 2021 the people of Myanmar don't have the freedom to leave the country and the military has very tight controls on social media.
Those surviving in the camps along the Thai border will probably jump at the chance to enter Thailand legally and work. I'd be surprised if we don't see an influx of boys over time as well. It's becoming clear that the majority of Cambo boys won't be returning anytime soon.

Re: Burmese Boys
The massage parlors in Bangkok (Saphan Khwai, Inthamara, Ladphrao) are mostly manned by straight Myanmar boys. The gay host bar "Dragon and Koi", now "Rainbow Dragon Silom" was/is entirely manned by Myanmar boys.
Note "Myanmar boys", not Burmese boys. Most of them ethnic minorities. I see a lot of Myanmar construction workers in Bangkok (easily recognizable when they have Thanaka on their face), it's not for lack of Myanmar nationals that there are only few in Pattaya.

I had to look up that one. I didn't know what Thanaka is.christianpfc wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:03 am easily recognizable when they have Thanaka on their face

Here is what Google has to say about Thanaka:
Thanaka is a paste made from ground bark. It is a distinctive feature of the culture of Myanmar, seen commonly applied to the face and sometimes the arms of women and girls, and is used to a lesser extent also by men and boys.
