On July 22nd, 2025, Banglamung district authorities, under the direction of Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, executed a major anti-drug operation named “BROKEN DOWN” in Pattaya, targeting drug trafficking and abuse in line with the Ministry of Interior’s “No Drugs, No Dealers” policy. The operation aimed to create drug-free communities and strengthen societal resilience in schools, neighborhoods, and families.
Led by District Chief Patcharapat Srithanyanon, alongside Wanchai Wannaphrom, head of the district’s administrative group, and other officials, the operation involved coordinated efforts with Pattaya City Police. Authorities arrested two key drug dealers and confiscated 406 methamphetamine pills (yaba), 20.31 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice), and two ecstasy pills. Additionally, 16 individuals tested positive for drug use.
The operation began after a tip-off from an informant about illegal drug activities. Authorities monitored a suspect, identified as a 30-year-old man named Ton, at a daily rental building in Soi Arunothai 2, Pattaya. When approached, Ton attempted to flee, discarding a bag containing 67 yaba pills. He was apprehended, and his confession revealed that he sold drugs to users who consumed them in the rental rooms. A room-by-room search led to the arrest of 14 additional suspects, some of whom arrived to purchase drugs during the raid.
Further investigation pointed to a 59-year-old woman, known as Aunt Thueng, as another supplier. Undercover agents conducted a sting operation, purchasing 200 baht worth of crystal meth. A search of her room uncovered 38 yaba pills and 2.47 grams of ice. In a separate sting at another unnamed rental in Soi Arunothai, a 25-year-old man named Kong was arrested with 0.96 grams of ice and drug paraphernalia.
Later that night, authorities expanded the operation to Jomtien Soi 2, a known drug trafficking hotspot. A sting operation targeted a major dealer, a woman in her 50s known as Madam Ying, who supplied 191 yaba pills and 9.61 grams of ice. During the raid, Ton, another dealer linked to her network, attempted a daring escape by climbing across building balconies but was eventually apprehended with 48 yaba pills.
When authorities attempted to enter Madam Ying’s room, she refused to open the door, forcing officials to break it down. She tried to flee via a ladder but fell and was injured, requiring initial medical treatment from rescue teams. A search of her room revealed over 30 sets of drug paraphernalia, 110 yaba pills, and 9.84 grams of ice hidden above a cabinet. Despite her denial of ownership, the room’s locked door and CCTV surveillance suggested otherwise. A building-wide search found nearly all residents testing positive for drug use, leading to 15 additional arrests.
In total, 29 individuals testing positive for drugs were sent for rehabilitation, while the dealers, along with the seized drugs—406 yaba pills and over 20 grams of ice—were handed over to investigators for legal proceedings. Authorities vowed to continue targeting drug networks to ensure safer communities in Banglamung.

The same police chief led a raid against Diamond boy karaoke now, according to the thai version of Pattaya news. Several boys detained apparently.
