I would think, or at least hope, the whole thing - the bombing, the international and domestic repercussions, and Iran's retaliation capabilities - were all thought through and Trump and his cronies know what to expect, know what they're doing, and what they are going to do next.
The less Trump says, the better. His judgement on what to say & what not to say is poor.
As for what they do next, well the best way to permanently fix this is with regime change. Ideally with a nice Liberal regime that works for the Iranian people and is happy to coexist with all the other middle-Eastern countries. Then everyone is a winner.
Unfortunately, nations are more inclined to start wars and kill thousands of innocent people than they are to assassinate rogue leaders.
However, that's easier said than done. Of course, The Shah was reinstated by a coup in 1953, funded by the US & UK. So external interference might also be a sensitive issue.
