Nom had been vaccinated and boosted and he’s had Covid before but his immune system is useless and he catches every bug. This time the Covid is much worse. and his doctor wanted him to stay in hospital but he’s gone home.
I was just diagnosed with covid...just too much fun!
Following several days of feeling under-the-weather I decided to go to the hospital to get checked out. I was running a fever, had body aches, sore throat, coughing, etc., and basically felt like shit. I rarely get sick and have a pretty strong immune system so this really threw me a curve.
I was handed a bag filled with prescription medicines after the tests were complete and told to remain quarantined in my home for 5 days during the recovery.
I'm now sitting in my bedroom/office where I'll be spending most of my time this next 5 days - isolating myself as much as I can from the other section of our condo where Jai will be spending most of his time. We both wear face masks when in the same room.
I was stubborn about getting more boosters after all the ones I received back during the pandemic, but in hind sight wish I would have kept up the process.
The other thing you might like to check is what vaccine they are offering.
The vaccines have been updated several times since the first ones were launched.

I would think Thai hospitals offer whichever one is most appropriate for Thailand. But in Thailand we either have to take what they have or nothing. Not much choice about that.

Undoubtedly, you have to take what's available in Thailand, but do all hospitals offer the same vaccine ?
Also, if demand has suddenly picked up, rather than turn customers away, I bet they will sell whatever unexpired vaccines they have in stock.
Apparently the shelf life of the Pfizer vaccine is now 24 months, if stored between -60 and -90C.

I'll ask Nom but I will be very surprised if he has the slightest idea what he was given but he has been to different clinics in Ratchaburi and Bangkok. I'm glad to report that he is now in quarantine in his apartment with food left outside by a friend. He sounds dreadful but perhaps a little better. He's lost weight which is not a bad thing.
I'll need to be tested in a few days to make sure covid is out of my system.
Any recommendations on the best approach:...should I go to a clinic or self-test, what type of tester to purchase if I go that route...are there benefits to returning to the hospital and letting them run the test...or fuck the test altogether and just don't say anything to anybody...
As a side note: Day 4 - fever, cough, body aches gone - appetite back - should be downhill from here.

The most reliable way is to let the hospital do it. They may want to prescribe more medication. Even though it might be the least convenient and most expensive way to do it, if it were me that is what I would do. After all, as you found out the hard way, Covid is nothing to fool around or take chances with. Get it done and get it done right.
