Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
I've had a mainland Chinese student in my village in the UK several times. For free.
There was another one as a tenant, but this one was f*cking some cute East European lad, rather than the likes of me. I met up with this guy a few years later in a SE Asian city. He was keen to go to a gay bar and he assumed that would have naked gogo boys on stage. He lost all interest when I told him what was actually on offer.
I'd say about 80% of the current crop of Chinese tourists in Pattaya are overweight. Quite a rate of deterioration in 10 years. That's not where I look for boys. If one of those messaged me, I'd take one look at the picture and not read anything else.
I was under the impression that at least one member's not looking for the perfect bar boy, as he's living miles out of town with a boyfriend. Not mentioning names

I gather at least one other has a boyfriend.
No bar reports either. Now if anyone here is searching for the perfect boy, with some intent, by all means tell us about it.
I'm still impressed by the quality of boys at certain bars in Jomtien. I gather contributors on the other forum are as well.
Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
Boybars are definitely less naughty than in the past. While ladybars in Pattaya have ladies completely nude doing erotic shows in jacuzzis and other exciting stuff, you have to be happy finding a boybar where the boys remove their shirts.
Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
I know there's several factors that are contributing to the decline in sex tourists in general, but the one that seems most apparent to me directly relates to Supply-and-Demand.
There's no doubt that the "Supply" side (working boys and girls) is declining due to improvements in Thailand's economy making it easier for the younger generations to find meaningful employment without dropping their shorts.
As mentioned earlier (right or wrong) there seems to be a noticeable decline in the quality of sex workers. Not taking anything away from the immigrants, but those Thai Dreamboys that I always refer to are almost nonexistent these days. Not that this bothers me personally because I'm not interested in bar trade any more- but I still have eyes.
I have a str8 friend in my building that told me the other day that finding a really HOT girl in the gogo's is not that easy these days - where in days-gone-by there would be at least one or two super hot numbers in every single venue. So it's not just the gay scene we're talking about.
I looked at some of the numbers and unemployment was down to 0.88% (4/QTR/2024) - as compared to a longtime average of 2.13% - with a significant GDP growth of around 3% per year. This, coupled with the fact that 20% of Thailand's population is over 60 right now - and estimated to skyrocket to 32% by 2040, will make it even easier for the younger generations to find more respectful employment.
It's anybody's guess where this will take us. I guess a continued decline in Thai sex workers seems inevitable, but hopefully neighboring Cambodia, Laos, and Miramar can keep the talent flowing to supply whatever demand is left.
I wonder how much the apps are affecting the "Demand" side? Let's face it, with the cost of air fare these days, and the fact that the very same dating apps are now available in just about every country, does it really make sense to fly halfway around the planet only to sit in a hotel room hooking-up on the apps?

Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
In the last week, over on Sawatdee, someone wrote something implying the available boys are more attractive than ever. He's another one who writes about his own current visits to bars and is clearly looking for boys to off. The harder you look, the more you find.
Also, I see certain bars which might not have a single cute boy. Yet, the next time, the same bar might have several cute examples. If not, you don't have to walk far to find some at another bar.
Whilst obesity, tattoos and moustaches spoil the appearance of many young Thais, there are still more than enough cute lads available. I'm finding the quality of boys I meet is as good as ever. Admittedly I'm focussing slightly more on attitude than spectacular cute looks these days. But the lads I meet are still remarkably cute.
As for finding boys on apps at home, well usually there isn't a single cute rent boy within a 50 mile radius. There are some in London, but these seem to want £150 or more and quite a few of those only do outcalls, so I'd need a hotel room. I can find acceptable Thai massage services.
There are plenty of reasons to visit Thailand.

Totally agree...and there's even more reasons to want to live here.
Hopefully it will remain this way for a long time...or at least 30 years. After that I doubt I'll be paying much attention.

Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
As I've said many times, I rarely go to the bars anymore, so I can't speak to that, but I do check out the apps nearly every day. I can say there are much fewer "my type" boys on the apps than before. Also, sometimes - not often, but sometimes - a boy I'm chatting with asks for money before we've even met. For me, that's a BIG red light, so that ends the conversation right then and there.
A few months ago I had one guy on the apps try to pull a more serious scam on me. After the typical kind of initial app chats for a few minutes, then he started talking about how he is getting rich on bit coin investments and, at first, "invited" me to invest with him. I said I don't know anything about bit coin (true), so no thanks - I'm not interested in investing in something I know absolutely nothing about. Then he started trying to pressure me into it. When that started I knew it had "scam" written all over it and he was trying to scam me into sending him money so he could "invest" it for me and make a huge pile of money for me. Wasn't that really kind of him - offering to make a lot of money for someone he's chatted with for less than 5 minutes? I strung him along for a while to give him a taste of his own medicine, then just cut off the chat. Of course, I haven't heard from him since.
It wasn't a call from some call center gang, but his approach makes me think working for a call center is where he learned how to approach a potential sucker.
I think that's a much more sophisticated type of scam attempt than the usual sick grandmother, dead water buffalo, or not have money for room scams. Instead of, at first, telling me he needs money for whatever, it was an attempt to convince me he was going to make money for me. I suppose trying to appeal to greed. I hope nobody reading this falls for that or any other type of scam.
Don't forget - when something sounds too good to be true, it isn't true.
Be careful about who you are chatting with on the apps. I'm there to try to reel in boys I like, but for sure I'm not there to end up being the one who gets reeled in . . .

Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
I don't visit the apps at all but this is consistent with what many others are saying these days.
I remember crossing paths with a friend one night while strolling down soi sunee and he told me that I should avoid going to the newly opened Power Boys Gogo because he only saw one really hot boy on the stage when he visited.
I saw the same farang a few nights later and mentioned to him that I visited Power Boys. He asked me how I liked it, and I told him that he was right...there was only one really hot boy on the stage - and when I woke the next morning he was laying next to me in bed...and he was GREAT!
I guess the moral of this story is that one Boy Special in your hands is better than ten in the bush.
Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
Another red flag is when someone wants to move the conversation onto WhatsApp or Telegram. As soon as you're on the secure encrypted services, they try to sell bitcoin or some other scam.
As for boys on the apps, just don't expect to find them online 24-7. If I see a really attractive guy, I add him to my favourites, so it's easier to find his profile later.
Some only appear on the apps if they have failed to find a customer at the bar. Others aren't online at all and seem to survive on bar trade.
There are plenty of nice boys in Pattaya. Admittedly, if I scroll through Jack'D, there are many profiles and very few are of interest.
I get better results on Grindr and Hornet.

That's one more hot boy than we could currently expect to find in Sunee Plaza.

Re: Are Naughty Boys Really Declining?
Don't forget, we all have our own opinions about what constitutes a hot boy. I've seen many boys who have loads of farang just drooling over them when for me that same boy is a "forget it". Many times I've taken boys that I know other farang are wondering what in the world I see in them.
For me that's an advantage. Most of the time it seems like most farang are interested in the same boys I wouldn't want while the boys I do like are quite often boys many farang would reject. Works fine for me. Almost never competition.
It's a two-way street.
