It does help - quite a bit. Thank you.

If all anyone will have to do is simply update their records, that is certainly no problem.

I've had this same phone number - it must be more than 20 years by now even though it is not in my name, so I feel a lot better about it now and I doubt I'll be receiving any notifications and will not need a new phone number. Fingers crossed.

Updating your records must mean with a phone number in your own name?

So I think that's a visit to your mobile phone company, probably along with whoever has his name against the SIM and then a visit to your bank?

I hope not. The person whose name the SIM card is in died years ago. I'll find out soon enough. The worst that can happen is I'll need a new phone number - in my name. Assuming DragonMaster is correct, I'll still be able to be billed monthly, which is the only aspect of being forced to get a new telephone number I really care about.

No point in trying to guess what will happen. If I get the notification I'll deal with it. I think that is what anyone caught up in this would have to do.
