I noticed one of my regular lads has been back in his hometown for a while. I can figure this out from the distance on Grindr. I didn't ask questions, as I'm also not in Pattaya.
Now he's informed me that his mother has died. Quite a few of these Cambodian and Lao lads seem to be minus one or more parents.
Do the maths and they must be dying quite young. In those countries, the average life expectancy is not that bad at around 69~70. I suppose there are all sorts of lifestyle factors which might push that down for some families.
I was in his home region last year. The PM2.5 reading was over 200. I'd imagine that's even worse in some of the houses where they had open fires. So that's not a good start. Before we even consider diet, work, medical facilities , accidents etc.
I've passed on my condolences.
He's not mentioned funeral expenses. Although, the boys who turn up and do a fantastic job usually never ask for money beyond what they earn.
This case would be worthy of a contribution, if appropriate.
