The situation in Myanmar is dire beyond words. Since earlier this year an old law has been resurrected: Men between 18 and 35 and women between 18 and 27 are subject to conscription. They are given minimal training and then sent to the front line where they are used as cannon fodder/human shields/human minesweepers as well as replacing those killed in fighting with rebel groups. Those that are able have already left the country and for those that remain their best choice is an illegal crossing into a nearby country. Thailand, should they capture these illegals, is in the habit of returning them to Myanmar. Words fail me. I have been approached by several Myanmar boys, especially Shan, while walking past Soda Massage in Pattaya, so they certainly exist in Pattaya. I've also bumped into a few in the streets as my apparel is obviously Shan. Last one had just finished serving with the TNLA, which was unfortunate as they were fighting the SSA(South) with whom I spend time! We agreed not to fight, which was just as well for me.

Later:
I have been away for a few days but further reading in this forum (Barry Kenyon) reveals that, as of yesterday, they can now get a Pink card and remain in Thailand....

I noticed as well that Myanmar boys are under-represented in Pattaya. But the massage shops in Saphan Khwai / Inthamara / Ladphrao in Bankgok are full of them. It might just be a question of geography, that Pattaya is a bit too far from the Myanmar border, whereas it's closer to Cambodian border than Bangkok.

Ah.
My stays in Bangkok are relatively short and I'm also less likely to find massage boys out in Saphan Khwai, Inthamara or Ladprao.
I haven't yet ventured out there looking for massage shops & they would be out of range of the free version of Grindr etc. I must have a look on Hornet.

Incidentally, even in Yangon, I only discovered my favourite Burmese massage boy after an unsuccessful search for another massage shop (that you suggested). Massage shops in Yangon can be very discrete, with no external signs. Anyhow, my trip to that part of town bought me within Grindr range of another massage shop. I saw that boy 4 times. Including after he moved to a different massage shop.

My last Myanmar boy in Thailand was in December 2019 from Fresh Boys. Very cute, skinny & OK in bed.
He was also my most recent off from a Bangkok gogo bar.

The Myanmar boys in those massage shops are mostly straight. They would not be on gay apps and no kissing or bottoming.

I’m in regular contact with a gay guy from Myanmar. I first met him at the now closed Cupidol Bar in Boyztown. He still works occasionally in Pattaya as well as in Bangkok with regular trips to Chiang Rai and then across the border to his family home in Myanmar. It really surprises me given the horrendous conditions in his home country that he seems to came and go with no problems. He even posts pictures of his tickets and Passport on Facebook whenever he’s at the airport as he flies from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and then crosses on foot at Mai Sai.

My only trip to Myanmar was many years ago when I also walked across at Mai Sai after paying 25 Dollars for a one day “VISA” (bribe) so I can’t claim to have seen much of the country.

At the moment crossing the border at an offical crossing point is not to be recommended. There is, however, an 'informal' crossing point East of Mae Sai/Tachileik but his feet might get wet. Crossing in the other direction is quite common these days.

While I'm sure most of us are aware of the existence of these "informal" crossing points, I would rather not have the locations of any of them posted on my board.

Back in January 2020, at "another Myanmar border crossing", people were crossing in broad daylight, in sight of the official crossing over the bridge.

Where it got more difficult was leaving the border town for onward travel within Thailand. The police checked documents for everyone on the bus. Two people were led away. Presumably a walk of over 24 hours could circumvent this.

They should come to the USA. We let anyone who wants to come in, no problem.

You're right. They let our ancestors swamp the place...says the American Indian under his breath...
