I can't imagine that either.
Elections probably mean Pita forms a new party, which promptly gets the most seats & then the establishment need to find more reasons to disqualify him. So why would they do that ?
Pita is banned from politics. I doubt he will ever have a chance to be PM. And new party ( Peoples Party ) has been already formed. IMHO to comment about Thai politics one should at least vaguely follow what is going on.Current political crisis reflects struggle berween Thaksin and Prawit and it is not clear who will eventually prevail.

He may never become Prime Minister, but he is not exactly banned from politics. He is banned from holding political office for 10 years. That's a difference.

We'll see what happens with Pita, but I don't count him as totally out of the picture. I don't know what role he will play, but I don't see him as being silenced.

Of course he is still a young man. He won't be anywhere near too old for politics once the 10 years is up. Who knows, maybe he eventually will become Prime Minister after all. A hell of a lot of Thais hope so.

It will be interesting to see how many governments topple within the next 10 years . . .

Considering the new PM, it seems you have a point: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd6yj26vz8yo
