Pita and LGBTQ

Post by Gaybutton »

Here is Pita participating in the Bangkok Pride event and don't be surprised if he participates later this month in the Pattaya event.

Ron DeSantis, how about taking a hint. Why don't you join a Pride event instead of being the homophobic, bigoted, prejudiced, worthless piece of slime that you so far have proven yourself to be?

Thai PM-Hopeful Promises Marriage Equality at Bangkok Pride Event

By Tanakorn Panyadee

5 June, 2023

Thailand’s PM-hopeful and leader of the Move Forward Party (MFP) Pita Limjaroenrat pledged at a Pride event in Bangkok that he would mandate a Parliament vote for the marriage equality bill for LGBTQ+ people within 100 days after he takes office.

Mr. Pita spoke at yesterday’s event that the event showed the world the diverse forms of love in Thai society and emphasized that the celebration was not merely about parades or symbols, but about embracing and celebrating love in all its forms.

He also hoped that by 2028, Bangkok would have the opportunity to host the World Pride event, which would result in significant economic benefits and positive outcomes for the country.

As for the MFP’s marriage equality bill, the PM-hopeful said he would push for its mandate in Parliament. The bill will be passed within 100 days after Pita takes office to allow people to be their true selves and erase certain societal expectations based on gender.

Pita said some individuals who aspire to be teachers are currently unable to pursue that path due to their gender identity. Similarly, some people are unable to plan their taxes or purchase insurance for their loved ones because of their gender identity.

The passage of the marriage equality bill will solve these issues, Pita said.

Pita Paetongtarn Lead Thailand into "rainbow era" at Bangkok Pride

by Nongluck Ajanapanya

June 5, 2023

The seismic shift delivered by last month’s election hit the Bangkok Pride Parade on Sunday, when leaders of the prospective coalition government turned up in vibrant shirts to support same-sex marriage and gender identity rights.

Move Forward Party leader and PM-hopeful Pita Limjaroenrat wore a rainbow shirt while Pheu Thai’s Paetongtarn Shinawatra sported a black top with shimmering colours, sending Thai social media into a frenzy.

Thai voters backed both pro-democracy parties in huge numbers at the May 14 election, delivering a crushing defeat to military-backed politicians that have led the government since the 2014 coup.

Pita and Paetongtarn’s Pride fashion choices also got fans wondering about the brands they were wearing.

Nation TV reported that Pita wore a shirt from Paul Smith's spring-summer 2022 collection. Eagle-eyed Thai netizens pointed out that the collection is for women, and Pita was likely using it to signal his commitment to human rights and diversity.

Meanwhile, Paetongtarn wore a shirt from the retro, Great Gatsby-style collection of UK brand Rixo. The light fabric was perfect for Bangkok's hot and humid weather.

Pita and Paetongtarn joined the parade and also spoke to the crowd of thousands of LGBTQ+ participants, vowing to implement legislation to promote same-sex marriage and gender identity rights once their new government is formed.

Bangkok Pride Parade 2023 took place as part of the worldwide celebration of Pride Month, which is now held each June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, New York, when LGBTQ+ people stood up against discrimination and oppression.

Not only is Pita brilliant with an amazing personality...but he's also a doll. He looked so HOT in that snug-fitting rainbow colored shirt he sported at the Pride event. He gets my vote.

Hopefully the election of a new modern-thinking government will have additional benefits for the LGBTQ community above-and-beyond the legalization of gay marriage. It would be nice to see fewer restrictions impacting gay businesses, especially those fueled and controlled by corruption.
