I can certainly understand why those who, like you, find fem boys - to put it mildly - less than appealing, would not like this kind of bar show.

On the other hand, those who, like me, do find fem boys very appealing, would probably greatly enjoy this kind of bar show.

I know you don't need me to tell you not everybody likes the same things. So to me the solution is a no-brainer. If you don't like this kind of show, don't go.

We do not all share the same tastes as Undaunted. I'd happily go after all 4 of those boys and that's getting towards the kind of show I'd like to see.
Undaunted can have the "Best Post Of The Week" award.

What I don't like is:
1 This kind of thing where a lady boy is the centre of attention (below).
The 4 boys are OK and nicely dressed, so it's better than some.
However, why does EVERY gay show in Thailand have to have lady boys ?:


2 This is far worse and I definitely wouldn't go to watch it (below).
A lady boy making an unpleasant screeching noise.
Some nice boys, but wearing the kind of miserable underwear I imagine my grandmother might have worn.
Awful.


3 Then they promote their business like this.
According to the poster, I'm expecting to see lots of lady boys and a few proper, but overdressed boys.
The lady boys will probably be screeching.
This is why I've not yet been to The Venue.
However, perhaps I need to give it a go, after seeing the opening post.
If most of their acts were like the video Undaunted posted, or possibly even more raunchy, I'd be a customer.
If one of the "show bars" would be imaginative and put on a "BOY Show" a couple of times a week, with a promise of NO LADYBOYS & no screeching, I'd be a customer.

Also, when shows do have guys in speedos/underwear, they are usually the much larger types, rather than cute twinks.
As we see in the example below.

The kind of pleasant scene in Undaunted's opening post is very much the exception. AFAIK.

To be more accurate, the vast majority of shows consist of one or more of the following:
1 Single lady boys screeching
2 Screeching lady boys as the centrpiece surrounded by overdressed boys in some unflattering outfits
3 Muscular or rough boys doing something, possibly erotic. Well erotic for people who have an interest in that type of boy (I don't). Dressed in underwear/speedos or nothing. Possibly with the lights turned down and hiding under a net, or something else to obscure our view.

I think X-Boys is a #3. In Pattaya, I think most are a #1 or #2.

What is quite rare is #4 Cute twinks in small underwear or less, with no lady boys on stage.
That's why I was surprised to see this in The Venue.
If they put on a show mainly like that and I don't have to sit through lady boy acts, I will be a customer.

I really don't want this topic to end up being some sort of posting battle between Jun and Undaunted, although I have no objection if they, and anyone else, posts photos and videos of the kinds of shows you do like as well as the kinds you don't.

I've just been looking at The Venue Facebook page.
There are lots of videos and sadly, over 90% of them are showing an act that includes a lady boy.

So whilst the video kindly posted by Undaunted suggests the place is worth visiting, how many lady boy acts do we have to sit through first ?

If you go to any bar show in Thailand, you might as well assume lady boy acts are going to be a part of it. If you're lucky, a very small part of it. If you will enjoy the rest of the show, I suppose enduring the lady boys is the price you have to pay.

Those lady boy acts are the main reason why I haven't gone to a bar show in years. As much as I might like the rest of the show, the lady boy acts ruin the whole thing for me.

Apparently enough people do like the lady boy acts that the bars include them in their shows. I would think if enough people dislike those acts and make that known to the management, the lady boy acts would disappear. That would be logical. However, most of us know how often logic applies in Thailand . . .
