Another "Do you remember me ?" message from an app boy in Pattaya.
After comparing screenshots, I eventually worked out that he's a lad I met in Bangkok, once, just over a year ago.
He's trading under a different name currently, but it's clearly the same lad and he says we met in Silom.
My notes from last year say he was rather good in bed, but had a suspicious looking skin rash, which I didn't notice immediately.
He's now asking why I don’t want to meet him again.
Whilst I passed the STD tests in November, I'm not that keen on meeting someone with an unknown rash again.
I could ask questions, but the most tactful way do deal with this is not to reply.
If he were one of my long standing regulars, I'd be more inclined to ask questions and try to make sure things are dealt with, if appropriate.
Getting into that with a lad I met just once is a different matter. Of course it might be nothing to worry about at all, but there is a risk of misunderstanding if I raise the topic.
Would anyone deal with that differently, for a lad you met just once ?

Re: App Boys
I wouldn't deal with it any differently no matter how many times I had met him. Unless he is someone I am close enough with that I would personally take him to a doctor to have it checked out, why take unnecessary chances? Even if it's not an STD, without knowing what caused it I'll do without that young gent's company.
Re: App Boys
Another app boy I know from elsewhere arrives in Pattaya on a visit.
His choice of hotel is a little out of the way, in a rather odd location. It looks nicer than mine and is slightly more expensive. Most odd, but I suspect he might be sharing it, of course without declaring such detail.
Then he has to check into a different hotel for one night, due to a lack of availability at the planned hotel. With Agoda showing availability and a very good rate at that hotel.
So I guess that's lack of availability with whoever he's sharing his bed with?

Re: App Boys
App boys in Pattaya have made initial requests for between 1000 and 2000 ST, although only two asked for the latter figure. Obviously I haven't met either of those.
Note: I'm quoting what they ask for, not what I ask for. If their request is below my normal tip range, they usually leave with my normal tip.
The time they spent on short time varied from 35 minutes to 2 hours.
The 35 minute lad messaged me several times afterwards, but has blown his chances of a repeat.
The two hour lad was a more recent hook up. He was also very good, so he's already had a well deserved repeat.
I have screenshots of all app lads to help my memory for future trips.
There have been some odd approaches.
In one case I asked do you **** **** ?. To which he replied "only if you go first".
I think he's forgetting who the customer is, so I didn't pursue that discussion further. There is plenty of other choice around, so why take risks ?.
I recently saw the same lad show up at a restaurant with a group of German speakers. When they finally selected the restaurant, at the rear of the pack, he motioned as if to kick his friend up the butt.
He looked bored out of his mind, but I guess it pays the bills.

Re: App Boys
The lad clearly saw me too, as mentioned when he messaged me shortly afterwards.
He's messaged me several times since, showing far more interest than before this encounter.
Re: App Boys
GB is apparently the king of using apps and his boys arrive within 15 minutes of making the deal online. I bow down ...
Here is my exchange this weekend.
ME: 13:51 "Want to get together?"
[6 hours later] HIM: "I'm at the bar"
ME: "what name bar? I forget name bar"
[1 hour later] HIM: "How many chijos do I have?"
ME: "What is chijos?"
[12 hours later] HIM: "my chi".
Obviously I have no clue what this is about or what language he is trying to communicate in (possibly using a translator that is wrong), so I try again?
ME: ?? [In Thai language] "I don't understand".
HIM: [In Thai language] "Yes"
Ok, I quit.

Re: App Boys
I sometimes get the same result, so I just move onto another boy.
If I'm in the mood for meeting a new boy, if the first one is not responding quickly, I usually start a conversation with a second candidate in parallel.
As for translators, one Khmer lad I know speaks hardly any English, after at least 4 years in Pattaya. He still gets deals done on the apps, via translators.
I've seen this in action, when he knows I'm in Jomtien complex, but doesn't yet know I'm at the next bar.
I reply to him on Line. I can see that he presses something and puts the phone to his ear to hear the translation.
He then speaks into the phone, presses something and I get a message in English. Usually something coherent.
I've seen this in action in the bedroom too, when he doesn't understand a word. It's text to Khmer audio.
He really ought to learn some English, as if I sit with him at his bar, the conversation goes
"When you see me next ? When you see me next ? When you see me next ?"
As you might imagine, he gets about one drink per trip out of me.
The rest of the time, it's online hookups, since he's quite nice in bed.
The last time he visited my room, I deliberately left some evidence of my attempts at learning another language on the table. He took the bait, asked about it and then declared that he would like to learn more English, but has no time due to work.
I suggested he has plenty of time. Sleep 8 hours, work 8 hours, 8 hours free...
The reality is that in about 5 years, he will struggle to continue in this profession. Like most bar boys, he's quite presentable, so if he learnt some English, he might get a slightly more comfortable job in a hotel or shop.
I think I've yet to make any progress advising a single boy.
Re: App Boys
Sometimes a discussion goes like this, after asking his name and where does he come from:
Q: What do you do here in Pattaya ?
A: Work
Q: Where ?
A: Bar
Now since he's come from Laos or Cambodia, I figure he's working. He can hardly rely on social security.
The more enterprising ones clearly state they are money boys, which moves the conversation on. And if it's a bar, they tell me which one.
