I received the following a few minutes ago from a source I know to be reliable:
Colonial Bar is now shuttered and was permanently closed on June 3. The owner has returned to New Zealand.
I have no idea yet what happened or why, but obviously this week's Quiz Night is not going to take place and apparently the Quiz Nights at Colonial are now history. I have removed the ad.
If I find out further confirmed, verifiable information, I'll post.
This is sad news. I first read about the closure on Nicky's Gay Pattaya where it also says that The Colonial is for sale. The Colonial was a frequent stop for a late night tipple during my trip in May last year and recently in March. Warwick the owner was nice to chat with and a fountain of information on the Pattaya scene. He had been running businesses in Pattaya off and on since the 1980s. The Colonial bar was a good place to meet residents and regular visitors and I shall miss it.
