Magg's
The link GB posted on another thread does go to Magg's website, but the site is outdated. They are now only open for dinner, no more breakfast or lunch. Too bad really because I enjoyed their breakfast.
Re: Magg's
I recently ate at Maggs and recommend it. The set menu is 350 Baht and includes an appetizer, main course and dessert all of which were very good. Serivce is prompt and portions generous. A good wine at 100 Baht/ glass. Many of the telephone numbers given on some websites are inaccurate. Here are their numbers: Mobile 08 11 53 47 33; Land line 038 251 164. Opens 17:30 Close 23:30. Kitchen closes at 22:30. Closed Mondays.
Maggs is on Thepprasit Road 350 m from the interesection of Thappraya Rd. Maggs is on the left coming from direction of Thappraya.

Re: Magg's
I've been to Magg's new location 3x. My first visit was ok, second was New Years eve, a total disasster was coerced into trying it a 3rd time, and I am convinced the English could even ruin a ham sandwich. If I had to eat a this sought of place again It would be the "Ritz" (kicking and screaming).

Re: Magg's
It amazes me how many people enjoy a place and yet one or two don't seem to like it or anywhere.

Re: Magg's
Imagine that, only one or two people in Pattaya with "discerning taste"!
I wonder why the place is packed every night that I pass there which is often. I know of some who have tried to get a table there and were turned away because the place was fully booked. It must be all these people who know nothing about food, like those who prefer vacuum packed corned beef to home cooked and would rather eat frozen English muffins instead of home made ones.

I left before the new location was open. How does the new place stack up? I always liked Magg's, not as much as Cafe' Ritz, but very close. Loved the campy waiters at Magg's working for the biker tattoo covered owner. Service was always very good there even if they were packed.
Re: Magg's
The decor at the new location is much different then previously. More like Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas all in white and gold, chandeliers, statues, frescos and many putti adorning the walls. Waiters are just as camp.crabby wrote:How does the new place stack up? I always liked Magg's
