I don't have any idea why I am thinking about Redd Foxx today. Americans will remember his TV show, Sanford and Son.
Many years ago I got to see his live performance. He was not exactly known for clean jokes. As long as I am thinking about him, here's a couple jokes I remember from the show:

Woman 2: Why? I'd be thrilled if my husband came home with a dozen roses for me.
Woman 1: Yeah, but now he'll expect me to keep my legs in the air for the next two weeks.
Woman 2: Then why don't you get a vase?
