But if the guy was right about Hotmale's excuse, I don't buy what Hotmale said. The only reason to pay tea money is so that certain members of the local constabulary will look the other way at various infractions. I know of no laws or ordinances that say go-go boys can't be in skimpy underwear. Actually, I don't know of any forbidding total nudity in the bars. I believe if there are any ordinances about it at all, and I'm not sure that there are, it would be a requirement that genitals are not permitted to be exposed. So, I don't believe that tea money has anything to do with why so many go-go boys are in jeans.

If legal matters really are the reasons why the boys wear jeans, then I wish whichever prudes who come up with it would find something better to do. The go-go bars are all in well established gay areas. The interior of the bars cannot be seen from the street. Who would be harmed if the boys are wearing skimpy underwear?

Not really. I think the 350-400 baht prices contain enough to fund tea money. What kind of lifestyle do the police expect ?

Now if they launched the hottest gogo bar of all time, with cute lads in underwear and the underwear eventually comes off, I would entertain slightly higher drink prices, but probably only for one or two visits.

I doubt I'd be a regular if paying (say) 500 or more for a beer.

I'm thinking more in terms of starving the BKK bars and police of revenue by not taking my custom there until they offer a proper gogo experience. As the lady bars apparently do. However, it seems other customers are less demanding.

There is some hope. The "New My Way" bar, opened in 2022 and reportedly offered fully clothed boys, excruciatingly loud music and gogo prices. Well, that one didn't even survive until my visit in December. It was rebranded as Queen Club and even that has mostly been closed.

The other BKK bars do seem to be surviving with an inferior offering.

In Pattaya, it's definitely underwear at Winner Boys and Toy Boys. So some hope.

But gay men who come here for a 1 or 2 week holiday are likely to be in the bars every night, paying however much the bars demand, and while preferring the boys to be in skimpy underwear, take what they can get while they're here to get it.

After Winner, onto Toy Boys. Thailand's #2 Cute Twink GoGo bar. Well, there are only two that I know of at present. I can't class Fresh Boys BKK as a gogo until they wear proper gogo attire.

The Toy Boys were in underwear, usually not skimpy. Approximately 20 of them, of whom I would class about 3~5 as cute twinks. So a clear improvement over my last visit. The rest were not my type, usually being too large.
One was very skinny and cute, but very much giving the impression he knew it.
No one was offing him, whilst the best of the other lads were being offed.
One slim lad was offed by an elderly farang, who was also looking in good shape for his age. Both parties seemed quite happy, which was good to see.
A couple of young Asians arrived and offed two cute lads. Rather than leaving the premises, they disappeared off into the dressing room area and seemed to go up some stairs. I don't recall seeing that before. It would appear that Toy Boys has short time rooms? Not a facility I would ever need.

The clients offing lads certainly demonstrated good taste. So someone with similar tastes to me should not turn up too late.

On a roll, after two good gogo visits, I made it as far as the door of Dream Boys. I let the doorman know I'm not interested in boys in jeans and left.

I live here all the time also but do like to go to bars every night, either host bars or go-go bars.

Toy Boys's short time room is the Serene Hotel. You exit via the door at the back of the bar then, escorted by a member of staff, it's straight down the alley to the hotel. Cheaper to pay the off fee and organise the room yourself.

The other thing I forgot to mention was moustaches. None of the Toy Boys had one of those thin moustaches that still seem to be common elsewhere, including on about 50% of the Winner Boys.

Perhaps the bar has some grooming requirements.

If I want to have a boy with me, I find my type on the apps, chat with him a little bit on the app - which is what I would do in person in a bar - and if I'm interested, 15 minutes later he'll be knocking on my door - at any time of day or night, whenever I want. If I'm in the right mood, I might have him bring along a friend - and the only off fee I'm paying is the price of his taxi fare - and these days they usually use Bolt or Grab taxis which are even less expensive.

If that is what occurs in most of your app contacts, you certainly are a God.

Having a boy from an app arrive at your place within 15 minutes of agreeing to get together is amazing.

I don't have that incredible level of success.
