The people in control of the Thai media are most likely Chinese Thai, and are probably acting in concert with their cousins in mainland China through obfuscation and partial truths. Both countries are in a sheer panic state as there is so much going against them currently, above all their unfounded pride.

none of the sources I know provide accurate data about where in Thailand the cases are.

We may not know exactly where all the cases are, but regarding Pattaya at least we know where they aren't. So far, no reported cases in Pattaya.

Thailand identifies six more novel Coronavirus cases, bringing total in country to 25

BANGKOK — The Ministry of Health on Tuesday stated to the press that six more cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Thailand, bringing the total to 25 confirmed cases since the beginning of the outbreak.

Suwanchai Watthanayingcharoenchai, chief of the Disease Control Department, said at a press conference at 4:00 PM this afternoon that four Thai and two Chinese nationals were found to test positive for the novel strain of coronavirus, with one of them being in serious condition.

He mentioned that the other five patients were recovering from the virus and in stable condition.

As for the Thai patients, Suwanchai told the press that two of them are couples returning from a trip to Japan, while the two remaining Thai Nationals are a taxi driver and a private chauffeur in the resort town of Hua Hin.

He did not identify which region the Chinese nationals came from. He also did not clarify if the Thai nationals returning from a trip to Japan caught the virus domestically or internationally.

Japanese authorities have been notified of the infection, Suwanchai added.

Seventeen infected patients are being treated at hospitals, while eight of them have recovered fully and returned home, health officials said.

In a related development, Suwanchai said Thai experts are working with South Korean counterparts to investigate a South Korean patient who had been found to be infected with the novel Coronavirus after returning from a trip to Thailand.

The Thai Ministry of Health stressed that all precautions were being taken with individuals who had come in contact with the infected individuals and that there was no need for the public to panic. Relatives and friends of the cases were being quarantined and observed. None showed signs of the virus.
