It's worth it, and last time, I'm in UK, not even a sore arm! Glad your fun is so athletic to cause issues! The mind boggles....

Ibuprofen gel for the injection site ? Normally takes the edge off it.

I haven't noticed anyone coughing yet, whereas they were everywhere on my last trip.

Well, I have the symptoms of a very light cold. So I took it a bit easy and only walked about 6 miles today.

I invested 30 baht in a covid test kit. I wouldn't have even bothered, but for this thread.

I was very surprised to see both lines light up. I hope I'm not talking too soon, but so far it's very mild. 2750 baht saved and no sore arm.

My young Cambodian friend has a sniffle too.

Let's hope it stays that way.

Meanwhile, I thought you were back in the UK. You are in Pattaya again?

Yes. Thought I'd try my first summer trip.

Apparently the dominant strain is now XEC. The Straights Times reckons the mortality rate is 0.106 per 100,000. Surely some mistake, as that's lower than without COVID ? If it's incremental, that's barely moving the needle.

And remarkably, my Cambodian friend tested negative. As you might imagine, we weren't taking social distancing measures.

Yesterday, I tested with a different brand of kit, for a second opinion. Still positive.

Today I have gone from mild symptoms to almost no symptoms. The line on today's test is getting fainter.

For the record, I had a few days wondering if I was going to catch something.
Then about two days of mild symptoms, followed by an improvement.
Treatment was limited to multivitamins.

Test kits cost 30 baht from Tops Daily.
