So what are you expecting from East Lounge ? Something similar to Dragon Music Lounge ?
If they're going to close in the front, at least that should not inflict too much noise on other nearby bars.
If they recruit a few cute twinks to work there, even better.

I saw that they tried to rent out the restaurant on the bottom floor, without the upstairs rooms, as a bar for 30 000 baht a month but I guess didn't find anyone interested.

The owners of Club Lounge are not giving out much information yet except that it is expected to open in September.
Other news is that Sun bar was expected to close at the end of June but found a new partner to keep them going.

Some things never change:
Pattaya's gay bars have remained in a constant state-of-flux since their conception back in the 1960's and it doesn't appear that this will change any time soon. For this reason I've always felt that a good business to be in would be a "sign producer".
But even that has it's drawbacks because many businesses over here opt to just leave the old sign(s) up when the business changes versus bothering to take it down. There's an old shophouse on Soi VC that has 4 signs hanging in front. 1) an internet sign, 2) a beauty salon sign, 3) a tattoo parlor sign, and 4) a massage parlor sign. The real irony is the place now sells cheap footwear and doesn't have a sign for shoes at all...55555.
Back to gay bars: I simply ignore the names and could care less who owns them. It's all about the "BOYS".

Yes, I meant East Lounge. Club Lounge is not involved with East Lounge.

I also don't understand the idea of expensive refits on bars, particularly when the bar is unlikely to last more than 5 years.
Classic Boys have got it right.
They took over the Cupidol premises & the only investment appears to be in cleaning & new signs. For that type of bar, the boys on stage are what matters.
On the other hand, it is time the long established Toy Boys ought to invest money in new seats, as the existing ones are very uncomfortable.

Thankfully they re-opened 2 days later on the 7th, if not, it would have left a large vacant space beside the empty BC bar space.
I'm just back from a Jomtien trip and didn't notice if they had a sign, not that it would matter as everybody still refers to the bar as DoDo's the previous name of the bar and owner in that space. Even the boys who work there and in sister bar Sunee Intimate Bar refer to it as Dodo Bar.
Also good news that John the owner of East Suites Residence is behind the new East Lounge bar in the former Double Shot Bar space.
