What I would love to see is the police escort them and their motorbikes to a designated area where they can race. If I had my way, the finish line would be the hidden edge of a cliff.

Good stuff.
Should be more of it.

And there will need to be more of it if these drips are to learn any message at all.

Arab Motorcycle Gang Busted

Arab motorcycle gang was cracked down by Pattaya official after they had annoyed people by holding underground race.

PATTAYA-7 July-[PattayaDailyNews]; at 04.00am Pol Col Apichai Krobpetch, chief of Pattaya police station, was accompanied with immigration police and administrative officers to arrest Arabian motorcycle gang that assembled annoying people.

The gang was around in target area when they spotted the officers, they tried to park their motorbike and pretended innocent. However, the officers could arrest 34 Arabian bikers with their motorbikes.

Upon inspection the officers found out that they don’t have international riding license so the officers have to issue traffic ticket according to Thai law. In addition, the officers found some who didn’t carry passport to check their availability in Thailand. If they are overstaying, they would be filed a charge.

Pol Col Apichai said that these Arabian guys become hot issue on social media after they had assembled in early morning to race. Plus, they also beeped horn annoying people, therefore, the official has to investigate and clamp down.

One can only hope the crackdown is not short lived.

I'm with you on that and I suspect so are many more. At least something is finally being done about it. This behavior should have been stopped years ago. It goes far beyond annoying. It's dangerous - not only to themselves, but to everybody else trying to make their way from place to place on those sois.

The speculation has been they can't behave like that at home, so they go to Pattaya and blow off their steam. WRONG! You don't get to blow off steam by making it miserable for everyone else, creating a dangerous situation, and having no consideration at all for others.

Even if the crackdown does turn out to be short lived, the city can easily put a stop to it without the police having to be there at all. Speed bumps - big enough so that the motorbikes can't just ignore them and continue racing at full speed. Seems like a simple solution to me.

This thread is relevant to my everyday life, unlike all things Trump or Gay pride Taipei.

At the risk of being told off for going off topic (slightly) why are there no women with these guys?

I've not seen one woman Arab, are they prohibited from leaving their country, or what?

The women are generally free to leave their country with a male relative as escort but they are most certainly not free to ride on the back of motorcycles, no matter who the driver is.

Thanks Bob but I still do not see any on foot either.
If you look at the bars, hamburger stalls etc., where they sit ...no women at all.
