^^ Said Colin Powell, the lying bastard, "I had to throw a mini tantrum at a Hampton’s party to get their attention."

What a twat. Thanks for endorsing Hillary anyway.

Just one more lie from The Donald ...

Remember when Trump promised to self-fund his campaign ... he (himself) having a net worth of some 10.5 billion bucks. The Republicans were drooling over their luck with this boy.
Well, just like everything else in The Donald's quiver, it came up almost empty. (Aside: what a LOSER this guy is! Can't help myself.).
According to a Republican Party fund-raising expert ~ a Ms Lisa Spies ~ he has reneged to the tune of anteing up a 20 million drop-in-the-bucket ... since the beginning of the primaries.
Meanwhile, Trump has apparently now given up on doing any more fund-raising at all.

(After he loses the election perhaps the Republican money books, when audited, will find that Mr Trump has absconded with a large amount for himself. I wouldn't be surprised at all.)
Lisa Spies wrote:" ... I thought fundraising wouldn’t be a big deal for him, because he promised to self-fund his race, which is one of the reasons he won the primary. Early on, when Trump did his all-caps “I’m worth $10 billion” press release, it was realistic to think he would personally fund the $500 million that it would likely cost to run a competitive campaign. So it was a shock to me, and most Republicans, when he became the presumptive nominee and played games about whether he was going to use donor funds to pay himself back the around-$40 million that he loaned his campaign for the primary. Since the primary he has only put about $20 million more in, which has resulted in his getting overwhelmed with advertising ... "

CNN reports the race tightening in battleground states and the Republican senatorial candidates in those states with the lead. There is a Republican move afoot to stonewall all Clinton SC nominees (assuming she wins) and leave the court essentially dysfunctional.

Dysfunctional? I don't think so. Yes there is still a nominee that the republicans won't deal with, but for the court it's business as usual.

Maybe they're afraid new Supreme Court justices will do what they're supposed to do - like upholding the Constitution without partisan politics and their own personal preferences and prejudices influencing their rulings.

The latest polls have just been released. The numbers are conflicting in the various polls, but the common denominator is all of them still have Clinton with more than the 270 electoral votes needed to win.

For a typical report, see: http://us.cnn.com/2016/10/27/politics/r ... index.html

Of course, some of the Republicans, such as Ted Cruz, are already saying if Clinton wins they intend to block any of Clinton's Supreme Court nominees (without even knowing yet who she would nominate), and plague her with hearings and investigations. Maybe Trump doesn't want to accept defeat if it happens, but apparently the rest of the Republicans won't accept it either. Instead of pledging to at least try to work with Hillary Clinton and come to acceptable compromises, apparently they would rather subject all of us to the same gridlock we've been going through for the past 8 years and accomplish nothing.

If Hillary wins, she's going to have her work cut out for her to get past this gridlock. I only hope she wins with enough Democrats also winning to render gridlock attempts ineffective.

If the Dems sweep the senate and house along with Hillary, the GOP is in for a big dose of karma.

The news reports I read never have much to say about the chances of that, but I hope it really will happen. And include state and local elections too, while we're at it. Even if there is anything I disagree with Democrats about (and I can't think of anything), at least the gridlock would finally be broken. I, for one, would be delighted to see people like Ted Cruz fade into ineffectiveness, oblivion, and at best quickly become a minor footnote in history.

As for the Supreme Court, why do I have a feeling Hillary Clinton isn't going to nominate another Antonin Scalia . . . ?
