There's always lots of possibilities.
Sometimes a farangs misunderstands or misinterprets Gogo boys. My hunch is that there was one bad egg and he
made disparaging remarks, which caused a reaction from the other boys.
Rose did run a tight ship but has been gone now for years already. I loved Dynamite Bar which Rose ran for years before
Funny Boys but alas things change and we move on.
My anecdotes and reminiscences had nothing to do with Peter. If I were him, I'd take a break from Funny Boys. Toys Boys
a great choice and a few footsteps away from Funny boys.

Re: Funny Boys Gogo bar in Boyztown Pattaya sold.
I went into Funny Boys tonite ( 29 June) or see if the poor reports were valid. There was a stage erected right outside the front door and I thought the loud blaring music, no more than 5 feet from the door, would put off all the customers.
Anyway went inside to see if there was anyone in there and there was probably about 15 customers altogether.
What was surprising was that there were no less than 23 boys on stage or hanging about. There was also a show (of sorts) ...oil and muscle guys...which lasted about 15 minutes.
Now I don't know if this was a special event or something as there were a few groups of Asian guys with bottles of whisky.
However let's hope for the best and as I've said before, I hope that the new operators (the old manager from the first post) doesn't let it go down the pan like Happy Place, and others, which were taken over by the boys.
I will drop in again in a few days to see if tonite was indeed a one off for some special occasion.

A show at Funny Boys! A stage outside!
Certainly does not sound like a typical night at Funny Boys.

I went into Funny Boys last week with my Thai boyfriend. Horrible experience. The boys were making snide looks at both me and my B/F and some waiter made some sneering comment to one of the go go dancers and pointing in my direction.PeterUK wrote:I popped into this bar tonight, first time in quite a while. Boy numbers have recovered to about 15 and there were maybe half a dozen customers. There was a total lack of any discipline among some of the boys and I felt very unwelcome. Left quickly in a bad mood. Will not return. For a long time this was the best bar in Boyztown, now probably the worst. Highly not recommended.
We left soon afterwards.

One thing that I recall from visits to this bar is that a higher percentage than usual for BT are straight, quite assertively so. It's not often that I've seen a woman in the bar but on the last occasion (about a year ago) i saw one, all but one of the go go dancers clustered around her. I believed that the one who didn't do so was "the only gay in the village."

What makes this kind of behavior so strange is that the boys work in the bars in hopes of being taken off. That's how they make their money. Why they would do things to alienate their potential customers goes beyond me. And why any bar owners and/or managers would tolerate it, especially in these difficult times when they're lucky to have enough customers to at least break even, goes even further beyond me.Jogger wrote:Horrible experience. If these boys are really behaving as described, welcome to the next item for my "I Don't Get It" list.

Needy...the so called show was inside!
I have since found out that last night's do was their 14th anniversary. No advertising anywhere that I saw.
I wonder if they will ever reach their 15th......

Re: Funny Boys Gogo bar in Boyztown Pattaya sold.
I went to Funny Boys tonight and the joint was jumping. I counted about 18 boys and there were many customers.
Our beers are now priced at 200 b.
Most of the boys were new to me, with only a few veterans left. Boys were very friendly and eager to be called down
for a drink and 'offed'. I saw nothing of the attitude problems described earlier and was surprised at the vast improvement
over a week or so ago. Gogo boys a nice mix with wide range of body types. Toy Boys finally has some competition..
